Ultimately everything stems from Godzilla, Gamera and Kong, but it isn't confined just to that.

Movies which employ special effects, are produced by companies related to kaiju films or that were worked on by people who also worked on kaiju films, and feature monsters or other strange creatures, are usually on the table. Things like Buddha (1961) and The Invisible Swordsman are examples of this, being produced by Daiei who are obviously known for the Gamera series plus the Daimajin and Yokai Monsters movies, feature strange creatures, and employ tokusatsu techniques. It's impossible to make clear-cut rules, because there will always be edge cases.

The website's scope has become admittedly rather large, but it's ultimately down to what we as the administrators feel is right for the website and can be adequately covered by us rather than another website.
