I would make a trilogy concerning a large meteroite crashing into Australia, and it affecting wildlife across the globe.
In the first movie - Godzilla, Angirus, Kamacuras, Rodan, Gorosaurus, Kumonga, Gezora are discovered/created by the meteorite. The main point of the film is international interest in the meteorite, the decimation of the Australian continent, and the threat of the monsters to the world.
In the 2nd movie - Several formerly 'mythical' nations become involved in world politics, and begin to make an attempt to acquire the meteorite for their own goals. These nations are Mu Empire (with control over Manda, Ebirah, and Titanosaurus), Seatopia (With Megalon, Baragon, and Kamoebas) Infant Island ( Queen Mothra, Lord Battra, King Ceasar) and Olympus (Ookondru, Megaguirus, Varan) Godzilla, Angirus, and Rodan remain as the 'champions' of the surface nations.
In the 3rd movie - The UN decides it needs it's own means to deal with the monster threats and defend the surface of the earth. They create Mechagodzilla (resembling the Heisei Version) M.O.G.E.R.A., Jet Jaguar, Kiryu and the Super X R & D division, creating hovercraft technology, Maser Tanks technology, and prototype projectile weapons. A separate organization looks to use alternate technology to create their counter-measures, that result in Biollante (G-cells with plants), Destoroyah (g-cells with chemicals), Hedorah (G-cells with pollutants), and Crystal Godzilla (Space-godzilla, in effect) At this point the Meteroite cracks open, revealing creatures trapped within, dormant and slowly awakening (Gigan, Gabara, King Ghidorah, Monster X, Orga) The space creatures begin growing and attempt to leave the continent. The UN forces engage them, and meet with mixed results. The 'genetic' monsters are deployed, and are disposed of quickly, though two (crystal Godzilla and hedorah) merge with Orga and Monster X to become suped up space monsters. The big final battle occurs as Godzilla heads up the earth defenders against the space born intruders.
