Forum - Monster polled for Godzilla Battle Line analysis

Of course, there have been polls often as to which Kaiju should join Battle Line, notably one about a week or so ago.

There were definitely some choices that would be neat, and others that do not seem like they would. So, I wanted to discuss a few of my opinions on some of the choices:

Not interested in:

• Varan: I know this would instantly be an unpopular opinion, but Varan does not seem like an interesting choice for Battle Line. I get the appeal, he is an underrated kaiju for sure. However, besides gliding, his skill set is very limited. And with many flying units already in the game, I am not sure how the gliding gimmick would stand out in a major manner. Though I am open to see how a Varan piece turns out, and I honestly hope I am proven wrong.

• Rodan (2021): Likely this would be a second flying group piece. However, the Singular Point Rodan were limited only to melee attacks. The Destoroyah Larvae at least stick out from the Kamacuras Swarm in their arrangement and that they have ranged attacks. Without this, Singular Point Rodan would have little difference from the Dorats. However, they could be in a larger group to set them apart.

Very interested in:

• Anguirus (2021): This one was a decent pick for me. Firstly, it would be nice to see another version of Anguirus added, and this version of Anguirus’ attack reflection ability would be a unique and interesting inclusion. Plus the design looks so damn cool.

• Orga: Easily the piece I was most excited to see on the poll, as he has been one that I have wanted to be added for some time now. There is a lot that could be done with Orga; it could be that the Millennian UFO is the first stage for the piece, before an amount of time passes and a Millennian is spawned (which would be stationary like Shin Godzilla third form), while the UFO remains on the battlefield. After a bit of time, the Millennian evolves into Orga. Then there is a lot one could include with Orga himself: his regeneration, the shoulder cannon, and his brute strength could allow for a piece with a knock back effect on melee attacks. Then there is his devouring ability, which could be used as a special move for a leader piece, if they do not simply use the shoulder cannon there. Overall there is a lot of potential with Orga, and he could turn out great with any applications of these characteristics.
