Super late to this, but with how braindead the Godzilla fanbase is nowadays (lest I remind you of what happened to Unknowingly) you really should've specified you were joking. Goji Guy already has had to deal with actual impersonators in the past, so even if you were just joking, he was also just upholding his image (and by extension, his job), as people already don't really like him.
It may have been obvious that you were joking, but he also has an image to maintain, so I don't think he "blew it out of proportion".
