There is a particular enterprise I would like some help in starting.

Given that we’ve entertained the possibility of introducing relationships sections/pages (In the future), obviously some experimentation could determine the applications in advance and I know the place to test the results. To be more blunt, it is very likely that a new Infobox template will be amongst the results that we can expect from this whole ordeal. Such a thing needs some place where it can be safely tested out, and I believe my revamp page could be the place to extensively field-test the experimental template.

The need for a new infobox parameter doesn't seem likely to me at all. What's the case for it?

Not a single parameter.

An entirely new template for a infobox with certain parameters and arrangements that could be added at the push of one button like with the other preset-templates for other types of infoboxes. One could just click on a single button and the template added in with all the parameters (ones already existent as well as strictly unique ones) can be ready for anyone to fill in the blanks.

Likely needed parameters uniquely for relationship infoboxes:

- Members (included individuals and/or groups)

- Type (character-character, character-monster, monster-monster, character-group, group-group, monster-group, etc)

- Form (Biological family, marriage, dating, allies, enemies, rival, frenemies, individual associations/affiliations, symbionts, parasites, prey, predator, host, distant species/genus, parents, offspring, subspecies, progenitors, ancestors, same-species/same-genus/-same-family individuals, etc)

- Status (current, former, brief, temporary, active, inactive, dead, one-sidedly alive/dead, etc)

- Balance (One-sided, mutual, neutral, one-aided-neutral, toxic/dysfunctional, unknowing, one-sided-unknowing, etc)

- Relevance (Media that introduce, develop, cameo, etc the subject relationship)

That sounds like far too much to foist on our already-overburdened infoboxes. Can you point to another major wiki that's done similar?

On a related note, I don't think it'll be useful to have a relationship section for every individual a given character has interacted with; sometimes there's just not much to say. The relationship between Godzilla and the Ion Dragon boils down to "they briefly fought once", for instance.

  1. 😮‍💨 I don’t get how a template, let alone an experimental one, would be . Anyway, HTTYD wiki does a beautiful job with relationship pages/sections. I’d recommend taking their work as an example, if that’s what you’re asking about.
  2. Kind of an obvious matter. Only the most relevant relationships are worth looking into. Didn't I acknowledge this matter in the forum post?

Okay, I understand what you're trying to do a bit better now. This wiki seems to have a high bar for creating relationship pages, e.g. only six pages involving Hiccup and two pages involving Toothless. It also doesn't describe their relationship with every single character on the main page, just major ones; Hiccup has 25 relationship subheadings in all. Given that the animated Hiccup appeared in three films, six shorts, and a 118-episode TV show, there was clearly some curation there. I'm not sure why you're acting like the need to similarly curate the scope of relationship sections on our pages is "obvious", given that you've made sections for numerous creatures the Monsterverse Godzilla has had minimal interactions with (including the Ion Dragon, which I directly named).

I am not sure how many dedicated relationship pages Wikizilla would really need. Our core franchises are practically allergic to having characters return in the same continuity for more than two films, and most of the shows we cover are either action-heavy fare with little characterization or have few episodes. Off the top of my head, you could justify pages for many major Monarch and Godzilla: The Series characters, certainly. With monster relationships, there's generally going to be less to say, since most can't speak and romantic relationships between them in media we cover are rare. However, I could see reader interest in pages tracking the dynamics between various Godzilla monsters across the entire franchise, or the core Darrow-Denham-Driscoll trio and Kong across tellings of the original King Kong story and their spinoffs.
