Anguirus is a Kaiju that appears in IDW Publishing's 2016 comic book series, Godzilla: Rage Across Time. 136 million years ago in the Cretaceous Period, Anguirus fought alongside Godzilla against other giant monsters for survival. He would ultimately face death when the extraterrestrial skeletal monster, Monster X, arrived on Earth and engaged him and Godzilla in battle.

Design

Anguirus’ design in the comic series is identical to his showa design. However, his sclera is yellow and his eyes are light green.

Personality

Anguirus displays little personality aside from being loyal and protective of Godzilla in the fight for survival against the other giant monsters. When Monster X struck Godzilla with his destroyed thunder, Anguirus immediately attempted to help his ally. More TBA

Physical Abilities

Anguirus was capable of pouncing up with enough force to knock Varan down to the ground.

Carapace

Anguirus possesses carpace like armor on his back that is covered in spikes. These spikes were able to pierce Varan’s wings.

Intelligence

Anguirus demonstrate coordination with Godzilla against their enemies. Even when facing an opponent alone, as with Baragon and Varan separately, Anguirus proves to be tactical in battle.

Weaknesses

Anguirus was ultimately killed by Monster X, who threw him into a lava pit. Unlike Godzilla who would live on into the modern-day, Anguirus perished in the lava and was never seen again.
