Kaiju No. 8 (怪獣8号 Kaijū 8-gō) is an upcoming animated series based on Naoya Matsumoto's manga of the same name, set to release on Crunchyroll in April of 2024. It is being co-produced by Toho Animation and Production I.G. with the creature design being done by Studio Khara.

Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.[1]

Studio Khara is tasked with designing the kaiju of the show.[2]
Marketing
The first trailer was released on December 15, 2022.[2]
Key visuals for several of the characters were revealed by the Kaiju No. 8 Twitter account starting on March 20, 2023.[3]
The second trailer was released on August 5, 2023[4]
