"Godzilla: King of Monsters"), known internationally as Godzilla II: King of the Monsters, is a 2019 American science fiction monster film directed by Michael Dougherty (who co-wrote its story with Max Borenstein and Zach Shields, and its screenplay with Shields) and featuring visual effects supervised by Guillaume Rocheron. A Legendary Pictures production co-financed with Warner Bros., Toho, and Huahua Media, it is the third Hollywood-produced Godzilla film and 35th Godzilla film overall, as well as the third film in the Monsterverse. It stars Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Ken Watanabe, and Zhang Ziyi. The film was released to American theaters by Warner Bros. on May 31, 2019, and to Japanese theaters by Toho on the same day. |
