Tao Tsuchiya (土屋 太鳳,   Tsuchiya Tao) is a Japanese actress. Her career began in 2008 when she appeared in a minor role in the Kiyoshi Kurosawa film Tokyo Sonata, which won a Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. She is best recognized among kaiju fans as the recurring character Princess Emerana in the Ultra Series, a role which she first played in the 2010 film Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial. Tsuchiya is a fan of anime and tokusatsu, and has cited the Toei series Changerion as a particular favorite.[1] She was cast as the female lead in the 2022 comedic kaiju drama What to Do with the Dead Kaiju?.[2] Tsuchiya is the older sister of actor Shimba Tsuchiya, who portrayed the civilian form of Ultraman Ribut in Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga and provided the voice of Tahima in the Japanese dub of Pacific Rim Uprising.
