So now you delete the content without providing any reason even though I provided my source with photos?
I don't deny that the author brought it up, I just don't find it very compelling. What even is the "homage"? I can't think of any parallels between Gamera and Kong or Chibi and Ignatz, except that both pets correspond to the species of the monsters... which would be a really silly thing to argue that King Kong invented.
About the supervision thing, now that I see the credits, I think that statement is misleading at best. If Yuasa et al. actually "supervised" it, I'd expect them to be credited as 監修 and not 協力. For example, Heisei Godzilla Chronicle is 監修 by Koichi Kawakita but there's a whole wall of names below 協力. My understanding of 協力 is basically like a "special thanks", just acknowledging participation of varying importance.
I need to check ALL pages of the book to determine the extent of involvements of those people, but they or others must have checked the contents before publishing. As far as I know, Nisan Takahashi specially answered to the question of whether or not the 1980 Gamera is the same individual on p.39.

It says "本著編集に当たって" "インタビューの枠をはるか超えたアドバイスと協力をいただきました。", means
"for the compilation of this book, they provided advises and cooperation which were far greater than interviews".
