Sandbox:Infobox Locations proposal
Purpose
The proposal of creating an infobox for location pages in Wikizilla stems from the need to create an organized arrangement for the information about real and fictional locations featured across kaiju media.
However, it has not been widely proposed and requires larger approval at the moment.
Parameters
Since locations vary widely in terms of their nature (nation-state, city, geographic point, buildings), the infobox would have to accommodate a large number of pieces of data. These may be expressed as follows, with the common points for all being:
- Point [Where it is: planet, continent, region, country, city {depending on what kind of area}]
- Status [Country, city, etc.]
- First Appearance [specifies any sort of media]
- Latest Appearance [specifies any sort of media]
As for qualifications for specific types of locations, they may be as follows:
Nation-States
- Images [Preferably two: the first being the national flag and the second being a map showing its physical boundaries]
- Official Name [Republic of XYZ, etc.]
- Capital City
- Featured cities [Cities that have been showcased in kaiju media within the respective country]
Subdivisions
This includes entities like states (Arizona, Texas), regions (Normandy), maybe even prefectures (Hokkaido).
- Images [Preferably two: the first being the subdivision flag (if it exists) and the second being a map of the subdivision itself]
- Official Name [Commonwealth of XYZ, etc.]
- Capital City
- Featured cities [Cities that have been showcased in kaiju media within the respective subdivision]
Cities
- Images [Preferably two: the first being the city flag (if it exists) and the second being any photograph of the city itself]
For the rest [i.e. planets, continents, geographical points, and miscellaneous items] the template may remain the same as the common template, of course with images added on.
