Forum - Weekly Film Focus

A simple proposal: starting next Sunday, we pick one film every week to concentrate our editorial energies on. As the Shinji Nishikawa collaboration proved, we can accomplish much working in concert.

I suggest we start with Gorgo, a famous film with a barren page. As it is one of the rare films on this site filmed in English, there's plenty of documentation about it, which I would be happy to share. Apart from filling out the various sections in our film template, areas of concentration would be:

• The gallery page, which is completely empty
• The soundtrack page, which is no better (here's where the film's music has been collected)
• A transcript of the film's credits
• Gorgo
• Ogra
• The novelization by Carson Bingham (I own a copy)
• The Charlton Comics series (readily available for free online - although making a page for each issue would probably be beyond the scope of a single week's work)
• Director Eugène Lourié (who also helmed The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms and The Giant Behemoth)
• "Waiting for Gorgo", an unlicensed 18-minute sequel that would have appeared on the recent Gorgo Blu-ray if not for the eccentricities of its director
