I have a visual estimate
As an estimate, and a sloppy one while we’re at it, but i believe it's worth sharing here to give people a visual idea.--GojiraBoy1000 T (talk) ~6:13pm, February 27 2025 (Eastern time)
- Another one.--GojiraBoy1000 T (talk) 8:39pm, February 27 2025 (Eastern time)
- RECORD BREAKING 1,547.5-FOOT/471.678-METER ESTIMATE!
UPDATE: THIS IS GREATER THAN ESTIMATES 1,2, AND 4 COMBINED!!!--GojiraBoy1000 T (talk) 8:58pm, February 27 2025 (Eastern time)
- RECORD BREAKING 1,547.5-FOOT/471.678-METER ESTIMATE!
- This estimate put hims on par with the Space Needle.--GojiraBoy1000 T (talk) 9:14pm, February 27 2025 (Eastern time)
- Last one for today.--GojiraBoy1000 T (talk) 9:41pm, February 27 2025 (Eastern time)
- Estimate #3 has been decreased to 746-feet/227.381 meters. The source I used for the bridge's height was bullcrap. The image's link lead to a copyright thing.--GojiraBoy1000 T (talk) 9:08pm, 1 March 2025 (Eastern time)
- Last one for today.--GojiraBoy1000 T (talk) 9:41pm, February 27 2025 (Eastern time)
- Welcome to BS scaling. The Monsterverse does it too. MV Godzilla's ~350 feet, yet he's taller than the main part of the Golden Gate Bridge (which is 600+ feet). He's also longer and shorter than a battleship across two different films. I shudder to think how well the scaling went in Cairo. -- Cohozilla (talk) 2:30, February 28 2025 (UTC)
- With all due respect, CGI is a little different from comic drawing. Besides, MV Godzilla was visibly shorter when he roared after breaking through. CGI is all about looks. Admittedly, the same can be said about comic panels, but work with me here please. These are just estimates and there are a lot of factors that i can’t effectively account for on-hand.--GojiraBoy1000 T (talk) 9:38pm, February 27 2025 (Eastern time)
- I'm not really sure what the purpose of this exercise is; the page already says his apparent height varies widely. And since it came up, another example of the Monsterverse seriously fudging scale comes during the entire Hong Kong sequence in Godzilla vs. Kong, where all three combatants were dramatically scaled up to avoid being dwarfed by the city's skyline. This sort of thing happens all the time in kaiju media; it's just more conspicuous with the Marvel Godzilla because he attacks so many familiar American landmarks (and just barely has an official height).--Astounding Beyond Belief (talk) 13:46, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
- This is mostly just to give an idea. A visual representation. Just giving out possible sizes. Aside from statements, there's really no other way of knowing/determining a comic book character's size. It is what it is.--GojiraBoy1000 T (Talk) 10:21am, 28 February 2025 (Eastern time)
- That's inaccurate; recent editions of the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe include tons of stats (example). Godzilla has just never had an entry because he's a licensed character.--Astounding Beyond Belief (talk) 17:14, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
- You got me there a little bit. But what you’re saying is proving my point. There anren't any sources that bother acknowledging Marvel Godzilla's size. The point of an estimate is to make up for nonexistent/unpossessed information.--GojiraBoy1000 T (Talk) 2:07pm, 28 February 2025 (Eastern time)
- We have an estimated height from the comic itself. Nothing wrong with making personal estimates, but they shouldn't go on the page.--Astounding Beyond Belief (talk) 19:31, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hence why they are here instead. Not on the page because it ain’t official. Not in the comments because they’re to valuable to leave in the “overlook this information because it’s some random baloney” section. Win-win. More or less.--GojiraBoy1000 T (talk 10:28pm, 28 February 2025 (Eastern time)
