Sea Baragon
|
Sea Baragon (シーバラゴン is an aquatic version of Shī Baragon)Baragon that first appeared in the first volume of Kodansha's Godzilla, King of the Monsters manga.
Design
Sea Baragon resembles the Showa Baragon, except with a large narwhal-like horn extending out from the center of its forehead and slanted walrus-like tusks. Sea Baragon lacks the large, floppy crescent-shaped ears of his earthly counterpart, and also has a slightly stubbier face.
History
Godzilla, King of the Monsters
Sea Baragon was manufactured by the mad Doctor Oniyama on his secret island, Satan Atoll, using DNA extracted from body tissue of the Baragon that was killed by Frankenstein's monster. The monster resided in the waters of Izu Oshima where he began attacking ships. After menacing Hideo Kaneko and his friends, Sea Baragon was confronted by Godzilla, and clambered ashore to fight the King of The Monsters. The two kaiju exchanged blows until Sea Baragon managed to gore Godzilla's chest with his horn. Godzilla, enraged by this attack, snapped Sea Baragon's horn in half. Even without his horn, Sea Baragon wouldn't give up, and leapt through the air towards Godzilla, but Godzilla grabbed him by the tail. Godzilla swung Sea Baragon around and threw him away. Before Sea Baragon could react, Godzilla fired his atomic breath at the creature, disintegrating him instantly. After the dust settled, Godzilla inspected the bloodied piece of Sea Baragon's horn, the only piece of him left. Godzilla then dropped the weapon and continued on his way.
Abilities
Horn
Sea Baragon uses his narwhal horn to stab and gore opponents. In one panel it is also seen spinning like a drill, although he never uses this when using the horn to injure Godzilla.
