The Tricephalon is a kaiju that only appears in the 1979 HG Toys playset, Godzilla Battles the Tricephalon Monster.
Name
The name "Tricephalon" stems from the word tricephalous, meaning "having three heads" and stemming from tri- ("Three" in Latin and Greek) and cephal- or cephalo- ("relating to the brain or head" in Ancient Greek).
Design
The Tricephalon is a three-headed, quadrupedal monster similar to King Ghidorah. Given his serpentine appearance, Tricephalon also bears resemblances to the Ancient Greek mythological creature, the Hydra. Tricephalon also has a spine sail similar to that of a Dimetrodon.
Abilities
Laser beam
The Tricephalon's only known ability was that it could fire some sort of laser beam from each of its three heads.
