Godzilla Interception Operation Awaji (ニジゲンノモリ ゴジラ迎撃作戦 国立ゴジラ淡路島研究センター) is an attraction in the Nijigen no Mori theme park on Awaji Island, Japan. It opened on October 10, 2020, with four components: a theater playing an exclusive short film, a zipline leading guests into the mouth of a massive Godzilla statue, a shooting game, and the Godzilla Museum. A Godzilla Singular Point themed collaboration was announced on the official Godzilla Interception Operation Awaji Twitter account.[1]
Short film
Godzilla Interception Operation Awaji's seven-minute attraction video,[2] produced by Toho, explains how Godzilla became interred on Awaji Island. He first attacked the island at the beginning of the Meiji era, coming ashore during a typhoon. When he returned during the 21st century, the JSDF lured him to Nijigen no Mori. Explosives planted in the ground kept him in place long enough for them to fire a drug-infused missile into his mouth, rendering him immobile. The National Godzilla Awaji-shima Research Center was established to monitor him.

Godzilla statue
The Nijigen no Mori Godzilla statue is based on his appearance in Shin Godzilla. At 20 meters tall, 25 meters wide, and 55 meters long, it is the largest Godzilla statue in the world.[3] Two ziplines allow guests to glide into the monster's mouth. The Godzilla Store began selling a vinyl figure based on this statue at the end of 2020.
Shooting game
In a booth to the right of the statue, guests can take aim at hostile Godzilla cells.
Godzilla Museum
The first permanent Godzilla museum includes displays of models, X-Plus and S.H. MonsterArts figures, and props from the films. It opened on August 8, 2020.[4] The museum has a rotating exhibit space that has featured a Godzilla vs. Kong display in the fall of 2021 and a Gigan 50th Anniversary exhibit which opened in March 2022.
