I'm not sure where to put this but this is a discussion about the wiki I think we all should have.

So, pages for more minor (official) incarnations are definitely happening in at least some capacity. How exactly are we going to do this? I have a few questions.

1. At the top of every Godzilla incarnation page there is a tab showing the page you are viewing and the Godzilla incarnations immediately before and after. That works well at the moment but I feel that in the future it may become "overcrowded" so what do we do about this? I personally think that a solution would be to have two tabs on each page: one overall and one for film/TV or non-film/TV. For example, the Godzilla (Heisei) would have "Godzilla incarnations" and then "Godzilla incarnations (film/TV)".

2. What about various Godzillas in anthology series like Godzilla Rivals? I see that the current plan is to give each individual one a page but part of me thinks that this would be messy and would be a part of the "overcrowding" problem so I'd say it would be better to have the Rivals Godzillas all on one page but with some kind of disclaimer like "these Godzillas all exist in their own continuities but are covered together for convenience".

I get that this is all pretty minor and that it would be better to work on pages like the Hanna-Barbera Godzilla or Marvel Godzilla (especially) at the moment but I still wanted to bring up this topic and ask for second opinions.

1. I agree with the split between film and "paper" incarnations, but that raises the possibility that people viewing it will wonder why the same design of Godzilla appears on multiple pages (Dark Horse used the Heisei Godzilla design a lot, as did IDW). This kind of reminds me of the design-incarnation issue.

2. Rivals was essentially a one-shot series; I doubt that the Godzilla featured in each one would warrant a page. As for the other comic incarnations that are being finished and awaiting approval (GiH and IDW), I don't think there would be much of an issue. But then we have GiH AND IDW using different designs . . . This hurts to think about.

I don't think the design-incarnation thing is a massive issue if we refer to the reusing of a previous design on each page. Though I suppose there's also the potential issue of web series, video games which don't reuse a design/incarnation and potentially manga.

Also, as a side note, here are all the IDW Godzilla sandboxes at the moment (I may have forgotten one or two):

I figured the comic book incarnations would have a Nav of their own, but I don't know if including a second one for all incarnations is necessary.

I'm of the opinion that all the different Rivals Godzillas should be their own pages, but keep in mind there is no consensus yet. Personally I think we should avoid the 'covered together for convenience' situations whenever possible, because it only creates confusion for the reader. Godzilla in Hell, even with its ambiguous continuity, I think can be a single page because it's presented as one continuous series, but every Rivals issue is a one-shot and has nothing to do with what comes before or after it. Plus each issue is fairly long, so it isn't as if there's nothing to write about. In my mind, there isn't really any downside in having more pages... besides having to write them :P

Ok. This will probably be brought up again later down the line but I figured it would be good to discuss it now.

There's also this sandbox:
