Why is Land Before Time mentioned on the page Tyrannosaurus rex? It isn't related in any way. We can't mention other monster movies in the in the section "Selected filmography", but Land Before Time can be mentioned in the opening paragraph in this page? Also why there's Terror from Beyond Beyond page on Wikizilla? How is it related, if it isn't a Japanese movie?

Because T-rex is an animal, not a fictional character, and the media featuring it that we cover on this site are a very small part of its pop-culture footprint. Ignoring major films it's appeared in seemed odd, like not mentioning Rogue One on Gareth Edwards's page. "Selected filmography" is just for what's covered on this site and the kaiju media we leave to other wikis. In the case of T-rex, it would be nigh-impossible to list every movie and show it's ever been in.

Terror from Beyond Beyond is a giant monster movie with clear kaiju influences - and all-practical, which makes it of much greater interest to us.

Again, I don't want to be annoying, but I should say that. I don't say we should list every monster movie with T. rex in it in the page, but I say Land Before Time has nothing to do here. The page wouldn't be worse, if it wasn't mentioned.

As for Terror from Beyond Beyond... There's no logic. I have nothing against the movie itself, I'm waiting for it, but what? So movies with special effects by a man, who participated in the production of the film, which inspired Godzilla aren't allowed, but this one is? It Came from Beneath the Sea wasn't made in the kaiju style but this one will be? As I said today Jurassic Park franchise has many relation with the genre too, but it isn't allowed.

I'm not trying to add Ray Harryhausen films and Jurassic Park films to Wikizilla. I have my own wiki, and as you can see from this article, I'm trying to expand it. But if random giant monster movies aren't allowed, then this one shouldn't be here too.

Hard to believe you read anything I typed about The Land Before Time. T-Rex's prominence in film didn't start with the Jurassic Park films; the sentence is strengthened by citing older famous films it starred in.

I'm not sure how It Came from Beyond the Sea could have been influenced by kaiju movies, considering it came out before the people who made it would've been able to see any of them. There's an element of weirdness bolstering the case of Terror from Beyond Beyond too - like the Giant Claw, Chavliodontos isn't just an oversized animal.

Allosaurus (talkcontribs)

For example, Jurassic Park and Dinocroc were inspired by kaiju too. And?

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

Degree of influence matters; so do the events of the actual movies. The monsters in the Jurassic Park movies and Dinocroc aren't city-smashers; Chavliodontos is.

"The monsters in the Jurassic Park movies aren't city-smashers" The Lost World: C'mon man...

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

Would you say the destruction caused by the T-Rex in that movie is comparable to the destruction typically caused by a kaiju?

KaijuMan (talkcontribs)

Well... no...
