Gamera the Giant Monster: part of a Japanese double feature or not?

Question: was Gamera the Giant Monster part of a Japanese double feature like its first six sequels were, or did this just start with Gamera vs. Barugon and Daimajin?

Thanks! Then this should be mentioned here as well. If this can be done, that'll be great!

Thanks a lot! Good job! Now we've got everything Showa-wise for Gamera.

I just found this out a little while ago: the film that's in the double feature with Gamera the Giant Monster is the only such film of the Showa Gamera double features that doesn't have a Wikipedia article. I ought to know, I checked it out.

Btw, the Wikipedia article on this film's director calls it New Kurama Tengu: Duel at Gojo Hill. Which English-language translation of the title for it is correct, this one or the one used in the article on here for Gamera the Giant Monster, which is New Kurama Tengu: The Battle of Gojo Hill?

I just went with the translation Les used on the Daiei page, so you'd have to ask him. Doesn't seem like much of a difference though. Unfortunately, the UniJapan issues on archive.org don't go back to 1965, so I'm not sure if it has an official English title.

I think "of" is more accurate to の, but they're both valid translations. As ABB said, unless there's an official title, it's really just a matter of picking one.

Okay, thanks. I wouldn't be surprised, however, if it took us a long time to find it what it is. After all, look how long it took to change one Daiei film's title on this website from The Whale God to Killer Whale.
