The definition of a god is so ambiguous that it makes no sense to exclude him. If the Monsterverse Kong can be categorized as a god, so can that universe's Godzilla. If you wanted to make the argument that Godzilla is no longer a god since his worshippers were wiped out millennia ago, the same argument could be made for Kong, since the Iwi were similarly wiped out bar Jia.
Perhaps to remedy this, a new category could be made for monsters or beings that were worshipped as gods despite not being gods themselves, or their worshippers are gone. Kinda seems unnecessary IMO, but I don't really see an alternative.
