User:Ani Mate, the One-Headed Human

|
Hello guys, I’m just a random British guy on this site who sometimes uploads or edits things.
About me
Why did I choose the name “Ani Mate”? Simple, I’m a fan of animation, whether it be film or television, I also just thought it would be funny wordplay since we use “mate” as another way of saying friend in Britain. “The One Headed-Human” part of the name is in reference to one of my favourite Godzilla films, Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (I guess it also serves as a reference to Orochi, the Eight-Headed Dragon too).
I’m a huge fan of Godzilla and overall Kaiju media as well as some other Eastern Asia media such as Hong Kong martial arts movies (e.g. Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan films). I had originally been slightly interested in the Godzilla series when I was younger but didn’t become an actual fan of the series until around 2020-2021. Since then I’ve got the UK Criterion set, the Arrow Video Gamera Blu-rays and a bunch of other Kaiju-related films on Blu-ray, I’m aiming to get more of the films (such as the Heisei and Millennium Godzilla films) after they become available over here.
Something that I think is important to note on my page is that I have Autism, specifically Asperger's Syndrome. This can sometimes make it difficult for me to socially interact with others and I may find things difficult to understand so please keep that in mind. Furthermore, I tend to be a bit repetitive with patterns and can be a bit slow. I also tend to get a bit anxious at times.
I wish you all the best in this life (and whatever comes next). Good luck, take care.
Other things worth noting:
- I hate calling GvMG '93 “Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II”.That title for this particular film has never really felt right with me, it ain't a sequel or even a prequel, it’s an entirely different timeline. The “II” is just plain confusing, “Godzilla vs. Super Mechagodzilla” or the addition of a subtitle in a similar vain to “The Battle for Earth” would’ve been much better if you ask me.
- I like talking about dubbing companies/groups.
- I’m one of the (seemingly) few people on this site whose favourite Mechagodzilla design is the Heisei one.
- I think Vince DiCola’s music is underrated (unrelated to anything here but still).

Godzilla and other kaiju in the UK
Despite not having as much of an impact here, in comparison to the US and Japan, Godzilla and his other kaiju pals still have a history in Britain. Against the heavy prejudice of the BBFC in the 50s and 60s to the limited releases of the films in the 70s and 80s and even the complete absence of the Heisei and Millennium films on any form of modern physical/digital media, these films have still been able to gain some fans in the UK. This section of my profile is dedicated to those fans by showing the promotional material and DVD/Blu-ray releases that the movies received from their British distributors.
