According to the credits, Keiji Ota, Hiroshi Ueda, and Tomuyuki Ogata worked on the production. Image comes from the credits translated through Google Translate (I'm aware that's a horrible resource and that there is a visible mistake made, but I wasn't able to find another image translator that worked well). I'm unsure if Hiroshi Ueda is the same person who worked on The Three Treasures and The Killing Bottle, but Tomoyuki Ogata had worked on Shin Ultraman as one of the co-executive producers. Then, of course, there's Keiji Ota. Would this be sufficient enough to approve Kaiju No. 8?

Hmm... based on what you mentioned, I would think so, yep. To be honest, I at first thought the fact that Toho was working on it alone would be enough to put it in the site's scope. Though I think some of the staff such as Les would be the best to ask about it.

Kaiju1954 (talkcontribs)

I'll be sure to, thanks for your input.

JohnGojira (talkcontribs)

No problem!

Zillaman98 (talkcontribs)

2024 is very soon, i think it's time to start seriously considering finding a way to fit this series onto the sites scope or not.

Les (talkcontribs)

I imagine confirming the nature of Toho's involvement will be a motivating factor - which we can't do until the show comes out.

Zillaman98 (talkcontribs)

Do we not know what it is?

Les (talkcontribs)

Nope.

Zillaman98 (talkcontribs)

Is there nothing that tells us?

It appears to be under the Toho animation banner, i thought the TV scope was supposed to be modified at some point.

Les (talkcontribs)

Even after a rule change, the only way for it to qualify would be if Toho is in a production committee. I think that's likely, but the way these things usually go is that we won't know the committee members until the show premieres.

Zillaman98 (talkcontribs)

IMDB had listed Toho animation as a production company but im not sure where they are getting this information from.
