Rock Critters are arthropod-like vertebrate monsters who appear in the 2005 film King Kong and the 2021 MonsterVerse film Godzilla vs. Kong.
Name
In Godzilla vs. Kong, the Rock Critters are called Arachno-claws are only named in the film's English audio description, this was pointed as a mistake by at least three of the crew behind Godzilla vs Kong.[2][3] They were called "Rock Critters" in concept art and "crab-creatures" in the film's novelization. Artist Ken Barthelmey said the creature had no name in the brief.[4] PUBG Mobile labels them as "Rock Crabs."[5]
Design
In King Kong, Rock Critters resemble a mixture of a crayfish and a spider. They have six legs and a pair of pincers. They have dark brown glassy eyes.
