Selina is the next in line to rule the nation of Selgina, but there is a threat on her life (from her uncle who wants to kill her so that he may rule), and she is sent to Japan to hide. En route, she is overtaken by a mysterious voice and forced to jump out of her plane, which was rigged to explode. while falling, Selina falls through a dimensional rift, and is unharmed on impact. She lands in the water and floats adrift for awhile, until she is fished out by fishermen, to whom she trades her ancestral bracelet for his clothes. She then takes on the persona of a Martian prophetess, who warns the world of the arrival of King Ghidorah, and the re-emergence of Godzilla and Rodan. She is taken seriously by almost no-one but the Shobijin and a journalist called Naoko Shindo. Shindo takes Selina to a hotel for an interview, but the assassins who sabotaged her jet break into the room and try to kill her, but her life is saved by the quick thinking of the Shobijin who had stowed away in Shindo's purse. She is later brought in for psychoanalysis, where it is revealed that she truly believes that she is a Martian. She is evacuated from the hospital when the enduring kaiju battle draws near. When the Shobijin inform the group of protagonists that the infant Mothra is on the other side of a nearby hill, they leave the car, allowing Selina to slip away. Detective Shindo soon realizes that she is absent, and finds her in a small gorge nearby, where she is being shot at by the only surviving assassin. A bullet grazes her head, and she remembers her true identity. She immediately recognizes the assassin and calls him a traitor before he is crushed by falling boulders. She is finally interviewed by Naoko Shindo and establishes that she may hold romantic feelings for Detective Shindo.
Following her father's assassination by the communist opposition in the Asian kingdom of Selgina, Princess Maas Doulina Salno became the ruling monarch of the nation. In order to escape the opposition, Princess Salno arranged a diplomatic mission to Japan, where she would be guarded over by Detective Shindo. En route, the Princess became possessed by a mysterious force, which commanded her to jump out of her airplane just before it was blown up by a bomb planted by the opposition. Days later, the Princess resurfaced in Japan, claiming to come from Venus and warning that terrible disasters would soon befall the Earth. The "Venusian" appeared at Mount Aso and warned that the accumulation of volcanic gases would resurrect Rodan, and true to her warning the flying monster soon emerged from the volcano's crater. The Venusian next appeared on a cruise ship which was set to depart from Japan, warning that it must not sail or else it would be destroyed. Mothra's Shobijin, who happened to be using the ship to return to Infant Island, were intrigued by her prediction and decided not to take the ship. Journalist Naoko Shindo brought the Venusian to a hotel in order to interview her for a story she was writing, but as the Venusian was alone in the room the assassin Malmess and his men broke in to finish their job and kill her. Malmess hesitated to kill her at first, as she did not seem to recognize him. Malmess asked her what happened to her royal bracelet, and the Venusian replied that she traded it to a fisherman in exchange for his clothes. Malmess was convinced that this woman was Princess Salno, and prepared to kill her with the same knife he had used to kill her father. Fortunately, the Shobijin were hiding in the room and turned off the lights and warned Naoko and her brother, Detective Shindo, of the assassins. Shindo opened fire on the assassins, who fled out a window. True to the Venusian's earlier prediction, Godzilla appeared from the ocean and sank the cruise ship she had warned must not sail.

Following the close call with the assassins, Shindo brought the Venusian to the laboratory of Dr. Tsukamoto, who he hoped could snap her out of her trance. After some analysis, Tsukamoto determined that there was nothing physically wrong with the Venusian, but that she seemed to be suffering from megalomania. the Venusian began to speak, saying that she was the descendant of the survivors who had managed to escape the destruction of Venus over 5000 years ago. Over the centuries, the Venusians assimilated with humans, gradually losing their alien identities and abilities, though they still retained their ancestors' ability to predict the future. She warned that the very being which had destroyed Venus, the space monster King Ghidorah, was now on Earth and would bring it the same fate as Venus. The Venusian's prediction was again true, as King Ghidorah emerged from a meteorite that had crashed in Kurobe Valley and began laying waste to Japan. As Godzilla and Rodan converged on the Mount Fuji area, Tsukamoto ordered his staff to evacuate the lab, while he and Shindo stayed behind to try one last attempt to break the Princess from her trance. Tsukamoto hooked her up to an electroshock machine and prepared to deliver shock therapy. Unbeknownst to Shindo and Tsukamoto, Malmess and his men broke into the laboratory and set the voltage to lethal levels, meaning Tsukamoto would kill their target for them. However, before the machine could be activated, Rodan dropped Godzilla onto a nearby power line, killing all power to the laboratory. Shindo found the assassins and managed to scare them off, then evacuated the lab with Tsukamoto and the Venusian. The three of them rode in a car with Naoko and Professor Murai to a vantage point allowing them to see Mothra try to convince Godzilla and Rodan to help her stop King Ghidorah. As this transpired, the Venusian wandered off and began praying to the "almighty deity" to save the Earth from certain destruction. Malmess tracked her down and began firing at her with his sniper rifle. One bullet grazed her head, snapping Princess Salno out of her trance. She immediately recognized Malmess and shouted at him, calling him a "traitor." Shindo tried to protect the Princess, but was shot in the arm by Malmess. Just as Malmess prepared to kill his target, a stray gravity beam fired by King Ghidorah struck the hill above him, causing an avalanche that sent Malmess plummeting to his death in the gorge below.

After King Ghidorah had been driven off by the combined efforts of Earth's monsters, Princess Salno bid farewell to Shindo and the others at an airport as she prepared to return to Selgina. She thanked Shindo for saving her life three times, as despite not remembering what transpired while she was possessed by the Venusian, she distinctly remembered all three times that Shindo had rescued her from Malmess and his assassins. She swore to Shindo that she would never forget him, and boarded a plane bound for her homeland.
