SciFi Japan is a fan-made website dedicated to tokusatsu. SciFi Japan consistently brings accurate and exclusive information on Japanese films and shows to English speaking fans worldwide.
Name
SciFi Japan's name is formed of "SciFi," a shortening of "science fiction," and "Japan," referencing its primary focus on Japanese tokusatsu films.
Content
SciFi Japan produces many exclusive articles that mainly focus on tokusatsu, but they also run features on anime and select non-Japanese media, such as The Dark Knight, Cloverfield, Doctor Who, and The Host.
History
SciFi Japan was originally composed of "Monster Zero News" and "Henshin!Online," and hosted at monsterzero.us. The latter became its own website, while Monster Zero News rebranded and moved to "scifijapan.com," where they currently are.
Staff
SciFi Japan was co-created by Keith Aiken and Bob Johnson, who are also editors and producers on the site. Jim M. Ballard is a writer, producer and web developer, JR Lipartito is a cameraman and producer, Robert Saint John is a writer and International editor, Elliot Gay is a writer, reviewer and translator, and Oki Miyano is a writer, reporter and translator. Kyle Byrd, Hogn Desentis, Michael Kureare, Richard Pusateri andSteve Ryfle are writers and reviewers, Aaron Cooper, Ed Godziszewski and Kim Song-Ho are writers and reporters, and Dan Ross is site coordinator.[1]

In 2012, SciFi Japan launched SciFi Japan TV, a web series featuring coverage of tokusatsu events and interviews with Japanese filmmakers. Two episodes were released per month, and each of them was shot in Japan by the Gaijin Channel production team.[2] The final episode aired on December 18, 2014.
