So there's been an image floating around and being used even by articles that depicts the shot of them running but Godzilla has his right hand torn off. Is that real or not, or can we even tell?
I personally can't tell if it has been blantantly altered, so I apologize if that's the case.
I found this tweet from a brazilian with the same missing-arm-shot from January 16! Like, how long have this been out??!
I think this is fake tbh, the trailer shows Godzilla that hand to grab the ground before he starts running, so unless they completely reanimated this shot for the trailers (which is way more effort than it's worth) then he would be stabilizing himself with his stump. (Also why is this on Les' page?)
I don't recall Godzilla having a severed hand when he was running with Kong. That image is definitely photoshopped.
It doesn't seem real to me either, but the reason I even bring it up is the fact that it's so prominantly used.
I mean, why would someone give themself the job to do a photoshop edit of Godzilla specifically missing an arm in a shot for GxK??
The reason for a fake could be litterally anything. Trolling, clickbaiting, random fan-art, etc.
It's possible that the version of the shot we saw in the trailer was altered to avoid spoilers, like how the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Men were removed from a Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer shot. But this image could also be a fan edit that some sites carelessly published. If it's real, I hope Godzilla rips off Heisei Gamera's Banishing Fist at the end.
When it comes to Godzilla losing an arm, all that it comes to my mind are these two videos (and both are from Vrahno XD)
