Category question?

Given the fact Apceros are from another dimension would they classify as Aliens?
From the context amd viewpoint of the film this question applies to all the MH mons in the film actually.-Zillaman98 (talk) 18:31, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

I suppose it depends on how you define "alien." Technically that word could apply to anything that is not from this Earth, but I doubt most people are thinking about other dimensions when they think alien. It's usually to do with space. Les (main | talk) 18:47, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
i feel the category could be expanded to include extradimensional creatures/beings like Ani Ghidorah for example is under the category and it isnt a space alien.-Zillaman98 (talk) 20:13, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
He kind of is, though. I mean he travels through space, and was responsible for the destruction of the Exif homeworld. The creatures from Monster Hunter are just from a parallel world. I don't think that would align with most peoples' understanding of the word "alien." Les (main | talk) 20:16, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
From my Experiance most people who follow various works of fiction associate creatures/beings from other dimensions as being a type of alien its not that obscure of an idea these days infact im pretty sure dimensional/multiverse fiction is more popular than ever these days.
Also while that ghidorah can apparantly travel through space it still originated from a diffrent dimension.-Zillaman98 (talk) 20:31, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
At least to my understanding, dimensions have nothing to do with location. You aren't really "from" another dimension, so much as you just perceive that dimension. If there were such a thing as fourth-dimensional beings and they existed on Earth, that wouldn't make them aliens. They're "from" the fourth dimension in the way that you and I are "from" the third dimension. That doesn't mean we're physically occupying different space. With that understanding, I don't think most people would say that being extradimensional makes you an alien on its face. I realize this is trying to apply real-world logic to fictional properties which aren't always compatible, but that's the angle I'm viewing this from. The actual argument for whether the Monster Hunter creatures are aliens would be if the world they occupy exists outside of the Earth. I've never seen the movie, so I don't know. I think your talking about the literal scientific term of dimension with the whole 2D 3D and 4D thing i just ment beings originating in alternate realities/universes the word dimension has been applied to those concepts as well and to answer the question the MH World is earth like but besides humans its Fauna is Entirely diffrent and even has sapient Bipedal Felines
Maybe Extradimensional should be its own category.-Zillaman98 (talk) 21:04, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
I don't know how useful such a category would be, to be honest. If the Monster Hunter monsters are from an alternate Earth, then I would not say that makes them aliens. The characters in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah traverse several alternate Earths over the course of the movie due to alterations in the timeline. Does that mean the Miki Saegusa from timelines 2 and 3 is now an alien? I think it would be preposterous to suggest that. Les (main | talk) 21:08, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
