Talk:Godzilla (Monsterverse)

From Wikizilla, the kaiju encyclopedia

Les, I won’t argue with you over the lore stuff.

But in my defense, I don’t see how it can NOT be explained that the ancient human city is an old iwi city or at least is located in the Hollow Earth. And for those two contrasts involving sea levels, I can’t exactly see it explainable any other way than that the Earth’s continuous increase in size and rock layer buildup results in the fictional structure of Earth.

This... doesn't seem to correlate to the edit he reverted at all?--Astounding Beyond Belief (talk) 13:25, 9 October 2024 (UTC)

With Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong 2 in the works, I believe there is a certain matter that needs to be addressed.

Since the comic series splits off into a different continuity distinct from all other Monsterverse media, I’ve been wondering if it is in the best interest to either keep information about Kaiju on their already existing pages or create new ones and transfer crossover-exclusive information to treat them as different incarnations. I find the matter akin to how many Godzilla film continuities start with Godzilla (1954) but incorporate different details behind the Big G’s history, backstory, and nature as a whole.

I think it's fine to keep it all on the existing pages. As you say, the '54 Godzilla is in numerous continuities but he's still the same incarnation. Also, the Monsterverse novelizations are alternate realities too, as are manga adaptations of other movies; we've historically kept those with the movie monsters. --Les (main | talk) 16:08, 20 October 2024 (UTC)

Willing to discuss those hidden abilities

The origins section needs to be relooked at.

The work I’ve done for my revamp project has lead me to read/reread all five Monsterverse novelizations and catch up on most of the graphic novels over the past 4ish months. My research has bore fruit in the form of several allusions to in-universe events that correlate to times in Earth's history as far back as the Proterozoic, Archean, and even the Hadean Eons. Godzilla imprisoned Ghidorah in Antarctica around the time the continent iced over (30+ million ya). Shimo and Godzilla fought each other once long ago, which was recorded in a cave painting discovered by Monarch prior to or during 2016. In a conversation between Dr. Andrews and Trapper, it is discussed that Monarch had uncovered zero evidence of Shimo's existence despite having explored so much and discovered so many Titans. It is also acknowledged that there has been more than one Ice Age, suggesting that Shimo might not have caused the last one but rather one of the more ancient previous ones. Someone in the GKOTM novel internally surmises that the Titans came from a time when the Earth was red and hot and oxygen-less. Godzilla's feud with the Kongs/Great Apes predates his feud with Ghidorah. Godzilla harbors instinctive memories from the times when the Earth's surface was molten rock, when water first covered the world, when the planet was covered in ice, when the first green lifeforms emerged, and when many “Godzillas” lived and fought constantly.--GojiraBoy1000 T 06:57, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
