About Me
Hi, I’m BioRo! I’m an amateur artist and writer :] I like things that are silly and cute. My favorite kaiju are Kiryu (2002), Baragon, and Anguirus. My favorite Godzilla incarnation is GMKGoji. I’m also not really chatty, so I’m sorry if I don’t talk much I’m getting better at conversation! :( Please excuse me if I make any mistakes, I’m trying my best.
I always thought Godzilla was cool, even if I didn’t watch his movies. My first (and only, for a while) Godzilla movie was Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla on the Turner Classic Movies channel, back when we had cable. I started watching near the end. I remembered King Caesar, and how the humans sung a song to wake him up and fight Mechagodzilla. Later, when I was on vacation in 2021, my mom offered to take us to see Godzilla vs. Kong, but I declined— Everyone knows Kong is just going to team up with Godzilla to fight Mechagodzilla at the end, so why even watch it, right? I also saw a jumbo-sized Funko Pop of Godzilla at a flea market and thought to myself, “Oh, man, that’s awesome. Too bad I’m not much of a Godzilla fan...” Much, much later, I was shopping for stickers on Etsy in 2024, when I came across some cute Godzilla ones. I had the same problem again. Only, this time— I could do something about it. That’s when I watched Godzilla (1954), and, well… the marathon began!
I’m a Promised Neverland fan, too, so I’m an expert at finding things that should have been dead and buried long ago.

BioRo Gives Her Opinions on Figure Brands
- SHMA (KiryuGoji): The detail and texturing on him is spectacular, but he’s so sharp that he hurts to touch. His forearms also tend to fall off a lot. He balances amazingly, though! You can get him in some pretty wacky poses if you have a bit of patience.
- NECA (GMKGoji Atomic Breath Ver./Godzilla 2019): Super soft. The joints are a bit stiff, but they become slightly looser after you hit them with the hairdryer. My favorite part is that his fingers are on a hinge joint together, allowing for more expressive poses :] Scales well with other figures. Not much movement in KOTMGoji, but his arms have a lot of movement, and I can get him in some pretty girly poses, which are funny.
- Funko (Mystery Minis, MG/Rodan): The detail on these little guys is superb! They don’t articulate, but they look great sitting together on a desk or shelf. Petite and should fit just about anywhere.
- Movie Monster Series (Gamera1995/Bagan/King Ceaser/Baby Radon/Megaguirus): The paint on these is hit or miss. They’re good for $30 or so, but not for the $70 I paid for Bagan 🥲 Fun to knock against each other in silly mock-battles. Decently sized.
- Shokugan (Kamata-kun/Godzilla Earth): They’re like the MMS, but smaller. Cool.
- Super7 ULTIMATES! (Ali Alligator/Hyacinth Hippo/Godzilla (2023): Opinion pending…
- Super7 ReAction (KG Metallic Anniversary Ver/Half-transformed MG): These, on the other hand, are great! $25-30 for a slightly articulated, well painted figure that feels great to hold? Sign me right up. Ultimates’ flaws actually work well on the ReActions because of the quality and style the ReAction brand is going for.
- Monogram International (GMKGoji/Battra/Mecha KG/Megaguirus): Neat little keychains of most Godzilla characters. You might not like all the characters in a series, but there’s bound to be at least one you’re fond of. The backs are painted, too, although minimally. The only critical flaw is that the clips are flimsy— I no longer have GMKGoji or Mecha KG after they fell off my bag :(
- Chibimaru Model Kits (Kiryu 2002): Hm. He was fun to put together about 80% of the time, but that 20% really dragged. I ended up gluing some parts in with leftover resin because they kept falling apart. His posability is extremely limited, and I’m so worried about him falling apart that I don’t even bother moving him around at all.
QPosket (Okay, I don’t own any of these, but they piss me off anyway): The Promised Neverland doesn’t have a lot of merchandise. I would like more to exist in the future whenever that Amazon live action[1]series comes out. However, I’d like these to STOP existing and go to wherever Andrew went when that demon ate him. The base versions are fine, if not a bit uncanny, but the “Vivid Color” versions are pure vomit. They could’ve gone with Emma’s GP colors as a cute little reference, but noooooo. LET’S MAKE HER BLUE! Let’s make Ray maroon for no discernible reason! Let’s give Norman neon green! What’s worse is that each of the main three has their own assigned “accessory colors”: Emma gets green, Norman gets blue, and Ray usually gets black (or sometimes yellow). Why didn’t they go with that?! (I continue to be baffled by The Promised Neverland Committee’s decisions daily…)

|}Titanus Chilomyria (キロミリア Kiromiria) is a brown, winged, insectoid titan. Its name, meaning "countless lipped", stems from its signature trait: a split bottom jaw. It uses this jaw and stamen-shaped tongue to resemble a flower and lure in prey. It has four paws that are too small to be practical, so it employs the much larger pair of modified forcipules on its shoulders for most actions. It prefers to spend most of its time lounging in warm sunbeams.
It began life as an egg floating through space. After being sucked into Earth’s gravitational pull, its eggshell was dissolved in the atmosphere and crashed into southern Lake Maracaibo where it became a nymph. Its nymph form was bald, fat, white, and stubby, gaining a brown and green coloration only after thriving in the rainforests of South America. It is locally referred to as “Centopesta”, meaning “centipede beast”.
Chilomyria is curious and skittish by nature. It pokes anything unfamiliar with its modified forcipules. Unfortunately, Chilomyria is too big, so a "gentle tap" usually (and unintentionally) pierces any skin, injecting venom into the unsuspecting victim. It is not inherently hostile to other titans but will attack them if they encroach on its resources.
Chilomyria’s bite is not unlike a lamprey: it sinks its teeth into the opposing titan’s flesh and begins to “drill” while also puncturing the skin with both pairs of forcipules. Chilomyria’s main weakness is its soft underbelly. While fur may be useful for conserving heat, it is not helpful when being clawed at relentlessly by an opposing titan. Its eyes are another weakness. These are quite large, take up most of the face, and are easy to puncture.
MechaMinus
|
Twenty-two years after Godzilla was supposedly killed, it was rediscovered in the Pacific Ocean after a series of Japanese ships were demolished. Fearing the worst, the JSDF began preparations for attack, and the organization named M.G.A.T. (Mechanical Godzilla Armament Team) was formed as a part of them.
Godzilla would not raze Japan for another five years, but beginning in 1969 M.G.A.T. would plan, acquire funding for, and build a 35,000 ton “MMW”, or “Massive Mechanical Weapon”, known internally as “MechaGodzilla”. It was projected to finish construction in 1970, but steel delays pushed it back to 1971. The main concern after its completion was its strength and durability— Would the mechanical marvel really be able to win against a freak of nature like Godzilla? After various mock battles, it was found that MechaGodzilla could not dodge Godzilla’s atomic breath fast enough, and so M.G.A.T. was sent back to the drawing board, trust in them diminished. Their budget slashed, M.G.A.T. was reduced to a team of just twenty-five people (the same people who piloted the mech itself), and the final revisions to MechaGodzilla were not finished until late 1972. The revised MechaGodzilla was 15,000 tons lighter, 10 meters taller, and more efficient than before. This revision of the mech proved to be more agile, stronger, and easier to control. It was deemed by the JSDF to be capable enough to battle and was greenlit for further training.
MechaMinus is made from C350 maraging steel, melted and formed into Godzilla’s likeness. It is also equipped with several pieces of anti-Godzilla weaponry. Each is considered to be the best of its time.
10-2-3 Titanium Claws / Perhaps the most visually striking weapon on MechaMinus, its Titanium Alloy Claws are designed to grab and tear flesh from the opponent’s body. They are only partially exposed at rest and can be retracted or extended further. The rest of its titanium assets (shoulder pads, knee pads, thagomizer, etc.) are quite sharp as well.
Anti-Aircraft Artillery / Several anti-aircraft guns are inside of MechaMinus’s mouth. To avoid accidents, MechaMinus has no teeth.
Neck Ventilation / Due to the pleated vents on its neck, the air surrounding MechaMinus’s décolletage is extremely hot (420-430C). Most creatures would be burned alive if they ever came near. The crew inside MechaMinus is, comparatively, much more comfortable— it is around 35C in the cockpit.
Palm Mortars / When the titanium alloy claws are retracted, MechaMinus is able to utilize the mortars located within its palms.
Type 89 Grenade Dischargers / Inside of MechaMinus’s chest are four panels containing six grenade dischargers each. They can fire type 89 shells at targets up to 500 meters away.
MMW Large-Scale Flamethrowers / MechaMinus is equipped with two large flamethrowers not unlike the kinds one would see on an M67 tank, although especially designed for MechaMinus. These are much larger and can fire at further distances.
AGM-78 Standard ARMs / MechaMinus’ anti-radiation missiles, concealed in its thighs, are designed to hone in on Godzilla from a distance by aiming towards any major nearby radiation source. However, it is risky to fire these missiles when in proximity to developed cities, as they may accidentally fly towards civilian radars or radio stations.
Auxiliary Pods / MechaMinus is equipped with four auxiliary “escape” pods on its calves. These are individually equipped with food, water, and bazookas inside and are considered to be a last resort before self-destruction.
Emergency Self-Destruct / MechaMinus can self-destruct in cases of dire emergency and/or complete weapon exhaustion. In such an event, MechaMinus is to be piloted as close as possible to Godzilla before exploding.
Weaknesses
Close Combat / MechaMinus is at a heavy disadvantage when fighting close range. It cannot regenerate like Godzilla can, nor can it resist a point-blank atomic blast or laceration by Godzilla’s claws. MechaMinus’s many spikes and primarily far-range weapons are to minimize the chances of such close encounters.
Head/Cockpit / Inside of MechaMinus’s head is the main M.G.A.T. crew. If the mech’s head is ever decapitated or torn into, the pilots and mechanics inside will most likely immediately die from the external heat. (The head’s visor is tinted both to protect the crew’s eyes and to block Godzilla from seeing any humans.)
Shoulder and Back Chambers / The interior fuel chambers lining its posterior shoulders down to its lateral back are prone to exploding when punctured. These are somewhat protected by dorsal plates, though.
JSDF Supervision /
M.G.A.T. is a branch of the JSDF and thus under its supervision. If MechaMinus does not defeat/ward off Godzilla on its first fight, it’s unlikely that the JSDF will supply the funding for repairs and instead move to a new, less expensive project. M.G.A.T. faces pressure from the public and the JSDF to allow absolutely no mistakes.
