SD Godzilla World: Godzilla-kun (SDゴジラワールド ゴジラくん) is a 19-episode[1] gag manga series illustrated and written by Yukio Sawada, best known for his ongoing Mario-kun series. It was originally published in Monthly Hero Magazine from May 1990 to January 1991, and when that magazine ended, the series went through a soft reboot in TV Magazine from February 1991 to November 1991. It was never published into a complete book format. The manga influenced the 1990 Game Boy game Godzilla-kun: Great Monster March.
Like most gag manga, SD Godzilla World: Godzilla-kun places the Godzilla kaiju in silly, impossible, and/or out-of-character situations.

Episode 1 (February 1991)
Godzilla-kun and his friends, Goro-chan and Titano-kun, decide to have a snowball fight when they are interrupted by King Ghidorah and Gigan, who ask if they can join in too. Godzilla-kun says that they may participate as long as they don’t cheat.
Ghidorah immediately attempts to pelt Godzilla-kun with rocky snowballs as Godzilla-kun deflects them with his tail. Becoming frustrated, Ghidorah makes a gigantic snowball to throw at Godzilla-kun, but is crushed by Rodan-kun accidentally landing on top of him. Now one with the giant snowball, Ghidorah barrels towards Godzilla-kun. Mothra-chan then swoops in to save Godzilla-kun as he blasts Ghidorah with his atomic breath.
After burning Ghidorah’s snowball, it melts, leaving a make-shift hot spring in its place.
Episode 2 (March 1991)
Godzilla-kun is invited to visit Mothra-chan’s cocoon-shaped house. When he tries to knock on the front door, nobody answers. Mothra-chan exits from the top of the cocoon and states that the traditional door is actually a fake entrance, and the real door is on top. Mothra-chan’s daughter also appears to greet him.
Seeing that he is sweating, Mothra-chan attempts to cool Godzilla-kun down by flapping her wings like a fan. Instead, this only blows poison in his face. Godzilla-kun then tries to eat the arare placed near him. This is also poison, put out as a trap for bad monsters. Mothra-chan reveals that the real food prepared for the trio is a large head of freshly pickled cabbage.
Godzilla-kun asks Mothra-chan’s daughter where the Hina dolls—items traditionally associated with young girls during Hinamatsuri—are. She replies that there are none, and Mothra-chan adds that that is the reason she asked Godzilla-kun to come. Godzilla-kun is confused until Mothra-chan’s daughter wraps both him and herself up in silk to become matching Hina dolls themselves.
Episode 3 (April 1991)
Godzilla-kun and his friends go out to see the cherry blossoms. There is a minor misunderstanding, because his friends misheard Godzilla-kun as going out to see gravestones. Once Godzilla-kun and Mothra-chan’s daughter find a suitable tree to have lunch under, Anguirus appears and remarks that he already brought a tree of his own on his back. He is sharply rebuked by Godzilla-kun, who explains that him and Mothra-chan’s daughter are looking for a tree for everyone to eat under. Anguirus turns around to show Godzilla-kun a sign saying seats have already been reserved for them under his tree.
Lunch is served, but before anyone can dig in, an evil “tree” with three branches snatches up everyone’s food. This tree is revealed to be Ghidorah pulling a nasty prank. Ghidorah burps a gravity beam at Godzilla-kun. Though all looks lost, Mothra-chan’s daughter brings Godzilla-kun a nuclear fruit, which causes him to power up and defeat Ghidorah. Godzilla-kun notes that Ghidorah’s puffiness after his beating causes him to resemble a flower’s petals, although uglier.
Episode 4 (May 1991)
A bruised Varan-kun runs up to Godzilla-kun and frantically tells him that Ghidorah has a message for Godzilla-kun on Varan-kun’s membranes. Unfortunately, this message is scribbled so poorly that it is illegible. A voice—presumed to be Varan-kun—reads the message out loud, and Godzilla-kun remarks that Varan-kun is good at reading. Ghidorah emerges from behind and explains that it was not actually Varan-kun who was reading it, but Ghidorah himself. Ghidorah’s message is that he would like to battle Godzilla-kun near the stone warrior statue.
The two meet at the arranged location. Godzilla believes that with the power of his nuclear fruit, he will win the battle, however, his dream is shattered when Ghidorah knocks it out of his hands. The fruit bounces into the statue, enlarging and giving life to the stone warrior. The warrior crushes Ghidorah, as the statue rampages, Godzilla-kun eats another nuclear fruit, blasting the warrior with his atomic breath, although the statue simply blows the blast back at him. With Godzilla-kun almost defeated, Varan-kun assists Godzilla-kun by bringing him a hammer. Godzilla-kun consumes the hammer and his tail morphs into the hammer itself, allowing Godzilla-kun to shatter the warrior into many smaller statues.
Episode 5 (June 1991)
For an entire day straight, heavy rains have suddenly swept over the island. The next day, while the rains have stopped, the heavy rain has caused the island to flood with Godzilla-kun, Anguirus, and Titano-Kun discussing said flood. Godzilla proceeds to observe all the objects floating on the water, one of which happens to be a floaty that he picks up, with Mothra-Chans daughter stating to be the owner of it. Godzilla-Kun continues to look around, only to be shocked when he finds the frozen body of Ghidorah floating in the water, Godzilla-Kun starts questioning what happened only for the cause of it to emerge from the waters, Gezzora.
Anguirus and Titano-Kun watched from afar in a boat and warned Godzilla-Kun about Gezzora's abbility to freeze whoever it touches, Titano-Kun started to read a book as Godzilla-Kun challenged Gezzora and shot out his atomic breath, only for nothing to come out of his mouth as he was hungry. Godzilla-Kun attempted to attack Gezora, only for the giant squid to grab him, freezing his body as he threw him into the lake and bursted into laughter as Anguirus watched in shock. Gezzora then turned his attention to the two other monsters, but fortunately, Godzilla-Kun's frozen body floated towards a nuclear nut and ate it, the flaming Godzilla charged towards Gezzora, with the battle ending with Godzilla-Kun, Anguirus, and Titano-Kun eating the cooked Gezzora, who may or may not still be alive.

Trivia
- The Stone Warrior that appears in the May 1991 TV Magazine issue is extremely similar to Daimajin.
- Coincidentally, the idea of Anguirus carrying a tree on his back would later be repeated in an illustration for Chibi Godzilla Raids Again.
