Chibi Godzilla Raids Again (ちびゴジラの逆襲 is an animated children's Chibi Gojira no Gyakushū, lit. "Chibi Godzilla's Counterattack")television series directed by Taketo Shinkai, who co-wrote it with Yuki Hirokawa. Funded by Toho with animation by Pie in the sky Inc., it is the second series based on Chiharu Sakazaki's Chibi Godzilla character, after the two-season web show I'm Home! Chibi Godzilla. The series stars the voices of Jun Fukuyama, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Takuya Eguchi, and Rie Takahashi. Each episode is two minutes and 40 seconds long.
The first season of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again aired on TV Tokyo's Eeny Meeny Miney Mo timeslot every Saturday from April 1 to June 24, 2023. Episodes were also made available on YouTube for one week starting the day they aired on television,[a] and permanently on several other platforms one week later. English-subtitled versions were posted on the GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO YouTube channel every Monday from April 11 to July 3.[1] A second season of the show premiered as a segment of the TV Tokyo variety show OhaSta on April 3, 2024, and on YouTube immediately thereafter.[2] Episodes will air every Wednesday for a full year. English-subtitled versions will also once again be posted to the GODZILLA OFFICIAL channel, this time on every Wednesday from April 10 onward.[3]

Development and production
According to its trailer, planning for the first season lasted 10 months and production took about half a year.
Marketing
On March 1, 2023, the Chibi Godzilla Twitter account posted a series of teasers with the phrase "Raids Again!!!!!!" and a date of March 2.[6] The announcement of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again followed the next day, along with key art, comments from the cast,[7] and a final teaser video.[8] A promotion was also launched until March 9 for five participants to win a B2-size poster autographed by the cast.[9] The Chibi Godzilla Twitter teased another news drop on March 16,[10] leading to the release of a full trailer the next day.[11]
From March 20 to 26, a 10th anniversary TOHO animation banner including Chibi Godzilla Raids Again was hung in Akihabara Station.[12] Yet another Twitter teaser was posted on March 23,[13] revealed the next day to be an interview video with Chibi Godzilla voice actor Jun Fukuyama.[14] A short promotional animation was also screened in TOHO Cinemas beginning March 24.[15] From March 25 to 26, Chibi Godzilla Raids Again had a presence at AnimeJapan 2023, including a greetable Chibi Godzilla mascot, a screening of the main trailer, and a large display alongside Godzilla Battle Line.[16] Following the series' premiere, a Twitter campaign was launched from April 1 to 11 in collaboration with the Okashi no Machioka candy store for five participants to win an assortment of confections and a copy of Do Your Best, Chibi Godzilla.[17] The Chibi Godzilla Twitter also launched its own campaign from April 2 to 9 for one participant to win an autograph from Fukuyama.[18]
Chibi Godzilla Raids Again-related social media icons were made available for download every Monday after an episode aired,[19] and phone wallpapers every Tuesday after an episode aired.[20]

Chibi Monster Karuta
As a promotion for the show, a series of short videos entitled Chibi Monster Karuta (ちび怪獣かるた began being posted to social media. Each one is in the style of a Japanese Chibi Kaijū Karuta)karuta card, representing a different kana from the Japanese syllabary and containing a Chibi Godzilla-related phrase that begins with that syllable. - Chibi Godzilla Raids Again takes its title from that of the second Godzilla movie, Godzilla Raids Again, released in 1955.
- This series premiered on the 10th anniversary of animation studio Pie in the sky, which was founded on April 1, 2013.[21]
- Reina Ueda, who voices the elder Shobijin in this series, previously voiced Mothra's priestess Maina in the GODZILLA anime trilogy.
- Four of the show's voice actors—Rie Takahashi, Fumihiko Tachiki, Jun Fukuyama, and Maaya Uchida—were later cast in the the Japanese dub of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
- Chibi Anguirus is the only character in the series without a voice actor. He instead uses Anguirus' roars, with his actor listed as "?".
- Chibi Biollante is the only character in the series to be based on a kaiju who did not debut in the Showa era.
