- 5 April: An edited 12-episode version of GAMERA -Rebirth- will begin airing on NHK.
- 16 April: TOHO Visual Entertainment will release a Blu-ray set comprised of the five tokusatsu short films which debuted at Godzilla Fest (Godzilla Appears at Godzilla Fest, Godzilla vs. Hedorah, Fest Godzilla 3: Gigan Attacks, Fest Godzilla 4: Operation Jet Jaguar, and Fest Godzilla 5: All Monsters Showdown). IDW Publishing will also publish the second issue of Mothra: Queen of the Monsters. Marvel Comics will also publish Godzilla vs. Hulk, the second issue of its Godzilla vs. Marvel series.
- 26 April: The "Godzilla 70th Anniversary Godzilla The Art Exhibition" will open at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo, Japan, and will run until June 29.[1]
- 30 April: IDW Publishing will release Godzilla vs. America: Los Angeles, the second issue of its Godzilla vs. America series. Marvel Comics will also release Godzilla vs. Spider-Man, the third issue in its Godzilla vs. Marvel series.

- A strange cocoon exposed by the terraforming of Mars hatches inside the spaceship Izanami and crash-lands in Tokyo. The kaiju inside, Negadon, causes mass destruction until it is confronted by the giant robot MI-6 2, piloted by its inventor, tortured scientist Ryuichi Narasaki. MI-6 2 kills Negadon with its drill arm after flying it into space, but the creatures self-destructs, taking Narasaki and the robot with it. (Negadon: The Monster from Mars)
