In fiction
- Professor Elmer Mason and his men transport Godzilla to the North Atlantic in 1912. Godzilla attacks the RMS Titanic as G-Force tries to repel him; meanwhile, Mason attempt to collect the treasures from the crippled ship, only to be transported to the year 2299 by people from the future. Soon after, Godzilla sinks the Titanic, altering history, before he and Mason's men were transported to the future as well. (Dark Horse's Godzilla #11)
- After learning that he has a deathly lung condition, explorer James Copland attempts suicide by flying his plane into a storm cell near Sumatra, when he happens upon Skull Island. With a renewed desire to live with the intent of converting the native people on this undiscovered island to Christianity, Copland prepares an expedition three months later to the island. As they explore the island, the lives of Copland's crew are put in jeopardy by the dangerous wildlife on the island and their contentious relationship with the native people, the Tagatu, and the crew learn of the god of the island, "Kong."
