- 7 February: Novelist Shigeru Kayama, who wrote the original story for Godzilla (1954), dies at 70.
March
- 15 March: Toho releases Terror of Mechagodzilla in Japanese theaters as the headliner of the Spring 1975 Toho Champion Festival. It will be the final entry in the Godzilla series' Showa era, as well as the last Godzilla film for nine years.
- 28 March: The final episode of Ultraman Leo airs, and Tsuburaya Productions takes a four-year hiatus from live-action Ultraman shows in favor of other live-action and animated projects.

- 5 April: Himitsu Sentai Gorenger, the first series in Toei's prolific Super Sentai franchise, airs its first episode.
- 25 April: The final episode of Go! Kotaro Ushiwaka airs.
- 30 April: The final episode of Submersion of Japan: Television Series airs.

- Eight kaiju, including Godzilla, converge on Ghana, lured by a Psionic Transmitter operated by Dr. Deverich as a proof of concept to a televised audience of potential bidders. Anti-Megalosaurus Force members track down Deverich but fail to capture him, and Colonel Schooler is killed when the kaiju destroy the broadcasting station. (Godzilla: The Half-Century War #3)
