Gigamoth C-Type (ギガモスCタイプ,   Gigamosu Shī Taipu) is an unmade bird-like kaiju from the unmade 1991 Godzilla film, Micro Super Battle: Godzilla vs. Gigamoth—a title applied to the earliest iteration of the proposed Godzilla vs. Gigamoth.

Name

The name Gigamoth Type-C is taken from the book Heisei Godzilla Perfection. Concept art of three separate proposals for Gigamoth exists for the version of the story presented in the book Heisei Godzilla Perfection. The first is labeled A-Type or flying insect-type (飛翔昆虫型), the second is called B-Type or terrestrial insect-type (地上昆虫型), and the third is identified as C-Type or animal-type (動物型). The unofficial name "Archaeopteryx" is sometimes used by fans to refer to this iteration of Gigamoth due to its lack of resemblance to other versions of the unmade Gigamoth and closer resemblance to the extinct dinosaur genus Archaeopteryx.

Design

According to Koichi Kawakita in Heisei Godzilla Perfection, the Gigamoth in the consideration story had the appearance of an ancestral bird with a head "like a combination of a dragonfly and an ant." Concept art of the B-Type and C-Type Gigamoth was realized by Mizuho Yoshida, with his rendition of the "C" animal-type retaining no insectoid features at all.
