Anguirus Hound
|
The Anguirus Hound (アンギラス・ハウンド Angirasu Haundo)[1] is an unused kaiju from the unmade 1995 Godzilla films, Godzilla vs. Godzilla and Godzilla vs. Barubaroi.[2]
Design
The Anguirus Hound is very similar in design to Anguirus but possesses thin, upright limbs and a split carapace. It also bears a spiked club on the end of its tail.
History
Godzilla vs. Godzilla
Not much is known of the role the Anguirus Hound played in this project, other than the fact that it would have been a subspecies of Anguirus. It does not appear in Kazuki Omori's Godzilla vs. Godzilla story treatment, published in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah Perfection.[3] Whether it was removed from the story following this treatment or added in a later revision is unknown.
Godzilla vs. Barubaroi
Anguirus Hound would have fought and eventually been defeated by, the shapeshifting monster Barubaroi, who would then take its form.
Abilities
Carapace
The Anguirus Hound possesses a spiked carapace.
Trivia
- The Anguirus Hound possesses a split carapace, similar to the early designs for the original Anguirus suit from Godzilla Raids Again.
- The concept of Barubaroi killing and imitating the Anguirus Hound's form may have been inspired by the shapeshifting alien creature from John Carpenter's film The Thing.
