Fest Godzilla 5: All Monsters Showdown (フェス・ゴジラ5 怪獣大決戦 is a Fesu Gojira Faibu: Kaijū Daikessen, lit. "Fest Godzilla 5: Great Monster Battle")2024 tokusatsu kaiju short film written and directed by Kazuhiro Nakagawa. Produced by Episcope, it is the fifth entry in Nakagawa's Fest Godzilla series of shorts and is a direct sequel to the previous year's Fest Godzilla 4: Operation Jet Jaguar. The film premiered at the titular Godzilla Fest 2024 on November 3, 2024.[1]
Plot
Following the events of the previous short, Godzilla and Jet Jaguar confront King Ghidorah, with the Japanese military observing the unfolding battle.
Godzilla attacks first by firing his atomic breath at King Ghidorah, but the dragon is able to scatter the beam before it can hit him. King Ghidorah then fires his Gravity Beams at Godzilla, who then locks beams with him. Ghidorah manages to overpower Godzilla, knocking him down. Jet Jaguar manages to dodge the first wave of the dragon's beams directed at him, but is hit by the second, also knocking him down. The military, seeing Godzilla and Jet Jaguar struggling against King Ghidorah, authorizes the use of the G-Claws, which is delivered via two Ospreys to and promptly equipped by the robot after both he and Godzilla recover. The two then rush at King Ghidorah as he charges his Gravity Beams once more, with Jet Jaguar and Godzilla now being able to stand their ground against the attack. The robot then runs at King Ghidorah and begins swiping at him with the G-Claws, managing to land a hit in the process. One of Ghidorah's heads then bite down on the weapon, but Jet Jaguar is able to free himself by doing a backflip and slides past him. While King Ghidorah is distracted, Godzilla manages to hit him in the back with his atomic breath, which seemingly defeats the monster until one of his heads fire a Gravity Beam at Jet Jaguar, knocking him down again.
King Ghidorah recovers and roars angrily at Godzilla, who roars back before they both rush at each other. Godzilla grabs his central head, which Ghidorah counters by hitting his foe with one of his heads. As the fight continues, Ghidorah headbutts Godzilla again, knocking him down a second time. Ghidorah, using his Ghidorah Gravity ability, then raises Godzilla up into the air, but the attack is suddenly cut short, causing the King of the Monsters to land back down. It is then revealed that Jet Jaguar stabbed Ghidorah with one of the G-Claws, with the former running at Ghidorah while Godzilla fires his atomic breath at the other half of the weapon, this allowing it to decapitate Ghidorah's central head. In an act of sacrifice, Jet Jaguar restrains King Ghidorah as Godzilla fires his atomic breath yet again, with the former being blown away by the attack before the dragon falls over and explodes.
Following King Ghidorah's defeat, Godzilla finds Jet Jaguar laying down, having been mortally wounded. The robot gives a final thumbs up to him before shutting down. Godzilla roars skyward while the military mourns their loss before he goes back to the sea as the sun rises. As he does so, he roars one more time before he glares and growls at the camera.

Trivia
- The second half of the film's Japanese title, Kaijū Daikessen (怪獣大決戦, "Great Monster Battle"), is also part of the title of the 1994 video game Godzilla: Great Monster Battle.
- The film's English title, "All Monsters Showdown," is not a direct translation from Japanese; it was revealed in the English subtitles on the now-private YouTube upload of Fest Godzilla 4: Operation Jet Jaguar.
- The film's trailer uses stock footage of Godzilla firing his atomic breath from Fest Godzilla 3: Gigan Attacks.
- King Caesar's roar can be heard in the trailer as Godzilla fights off King Ghidorah. The film's release year, 2024, is the 50th anniversary of Caesar's debut film.
- This is the only Fest Godzilla film to not introduce a new monster to the series, as Jet Jaguar and King Ghidorah both debuted in the previous entry.
- A character mentions that King Ghidorah is "completely different" from "Japan's Ghidorah", likely an in-joke about the benevolent Ghidorah from GMK, whose suit is reused for this short.
- King Ghidorah has his middle head cut off and sprays gold powder in place of blood, both references to 1991's Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah.
- When using his Ghidorah Gravity, King Ghidorah shoots red, blue, and yellow beams, a concept which was scrapped from Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah.
- The name of Norman England's character, Dr. Asimov Jr., references that of Mechagodzilla designer Leo Asimov from Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II.[9]
