Chibi Rodan

Chibi Rodan (ちびラドン Chibi Radon) is a juvenile kaiju who first appeared in the 2018 children's book Do Your Best, Chibi Godzilla. A winged monster with the ability to soar through the sky, Chibi Rodan is a close friend of Chibi Godzilla and his other friends. He is featured in all three Chibi Godzilla picture books as well as the web anime I'm Home! Chibi Godzilla and the TV anime series Chibi Godzilla Raids Again.
Name
Chibi Rodan's name comes from placing chibi (ちび), a Japanese word meaning "little," in front of Rodan's name.
Design
Chibi Rodan is a pterosaur with orange skin, a yellow, beak and a white belly. He has yellow claws on his wings and feet and two spikes on the back of his head.
Personality
Chibi Rodan is a friend of Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Ghidorah, Chibi Mothra, Chibi Anguirus, and the Chibi Mechagodzilla Brothers. In Chibi Godzilla Raids Again, Chibi Rodan is depicted as a narcissist proud of his ability to fly, but comes crashing down to the ground whenever his ego is bruised. As Chibi Godzilla explains, he simply wants to be liked.

I'm Home! Chibi Godzilla
As a close friend of Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Rodan frequently visited the apartment that Chibi Godzilla shared with Satomi to play and eat snacks. At one point, Chibi Godzilla witnessed Rodan flying in the distance and resolved to fly like him, using his fire breath to propel himself through the air.
Chibi Godzilla Raids Again
"The Ruler of the Skies, Chibi Rodan"
While hiking up a mountain on Monster Island, Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Mothra, and Chibi Mechagodzilla encountered the narcissistic Chibi Rodan, whose vanity quickly wore on Chibi Mechagodzilla. Though Chibi Rodan argued that he had the best wings, Chibi Mechagodzilla insisted that Chibi Mothra’s wings looked nicer, causing Chibi Rodan to plummet to the ground. Chibi Godzilla explained that Chibi Rodan would fall whenever he loses an argument and that he simply wanted to be liked while Chibi Mothra revitalized Chibi Rodan through shallow compliments, explaining that he perks up when girls praise him. Chibi Godzilla then suggested that Chibi Rodan could give them rides up the mountain on his back, but Chibi Rodan rudely declined before attempting to defend his narcissism. However, he began to worry that he was being a bother mid-argument and plummeted to the ground yet again.
"Monster Study Session"
Chibi Godzilla taught a monster study session for the monsters of Monster Island. In response to a question about what felt best to destroy, Chibi Rodan suggested "common sense", believing that the abandonment of common sense led to free thought. While Chibi Mechagodzilla dismissed various ridiculous answers that were suggested by Chibi Rodan and the other monsters, he quickly found that Chibi Godzilla's "real" answers to his questions were just as asinine, making him question whether or not this was a real class.
"The Sage of Grudges, Chibi Hedorah"
In Monster Island's classroom, Chibi Hedorah arrived to teach a lesson for Chibi Rodan, Chibi Godzilla, and Chibi Mechagodzilla. After Chibi Hedorah failed to recognize Chibi Rodan despite seeing him all the time, the devastated Chibi Rodan plummeted from the sky and knocked himself out. Chibi Hedorah lamented that Chibi Rodan's unconscious body on the ground was "filthy" and that he could not stand filth.
"The War at Low Tide"
Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Mechagodzilla, Chibi Ghidorah, and Chibi Rodan went to the beach to dig for clams when they encountered Chibi Hedorah, who was cleaning trash that had washed up on Monster Island's shores. Chibi Rodan praised Chibi Hedorah's commitment to the environment, only to plummet from the sky when Chibi Hedorah once more failed to recognize him. Chibi Ghidorah was dismayed that so much garbage had washed up on their beaches, at which point a revived Chibi Rodan suggested picking up the trash shortly before passing out again when Chibi Hedorah declared that the pterosaur was "full of garbage" himself. Just as the chibi monsters enthusiastically embraced the idea of cleaning the beach, Chibi Hedorah first told them to clean up their own trash in reference to Chibi Rodan's unconscious body, which resulted in Chibi Mechagodzilla defending the fallen monster.
"A Mighty Monster's Instinct"
While hanging out with the other chibi monsters of Monster Island, Chibi Godzilla sneezed, scorching the top of Chibi Mechagodzilla's head with atomic breath before unexpectedly roaring like his father, which startled Chibi Rodan and the others. While Chibi Godzilla dismissed these oddities as the symptoms of a cold, Chibi Mechagodzilla and the other monsters concluded that Chibi Godzilla was reaching puberty, exciting the young monster. Some time later, Chibi Ghidorah summoned Chibi Rodan and the other chibi monsters and revealed that he found a letter from Chibi Godzilla, who explained that he was fearful his destructive urges would cause him to hurt his friends and subsequently decided to leave Monster Island, though he hoped to meet his friends again when they were older. Heartbroken, Chibi Mechagodzilla believed he was at fault for yelling at Chibi Godzilla earlier and began to cry until Chibi Godzilla suddenly appeared, explaining that he saw a doctor before he could leave and found that he really did have a cold after all. Chibi Rodan and the other chibi monsters were relieved to know that Chibi Godzilla would be staying with them after all.

As seen in the first Chibi Godzilla theater promo, Chibi Rodan can generate strong winds by clapping his wings together.
Weaknesses
In Chibi Godzilla Raids Again, whenever Rodan's ego is bruised, he crashes headfirst into the ground and knocks himself unconscious temporarily.

Do Your Best, Chibi Godzilla
Chibi Rodan and Chibi Ghidorah bested Chibi Godzilla in a footrace, causing him to cry. However, every time Chibi Godzilla cried he breathed fire, which delighted both Chibi Rodan and Chibi Ghidorah.
Close Friends, Chibi Godzilla
When feeling lonely, Chibi Godzilla set out to look for friends, encountering Chibi Rodan along with Chibi Mothra, Chibi Anguirus, and Chibi Ghidorah. Chibi Godzilla remarked that Chibi Rodan could fly through the sky. When the other monsters asked what Chibi Godzilla could do, he responded saying he could breathe fire and exhaled a blast of fire at them, prompting them to flee. While running after them, Chibi Godzilla's fire breath caused fruit to fall out of a nearby tree. He asked the other monsters to share the fruit with him, and they all ate until they were full. Chibi Godzilla was no longer lonely as he befriended the other monsters.
