- This page is for the Godzilla from Godziban's Go! Jet Jaguar segments. For the main Godzilla of the series, see Godzilla-kun.
Godzilla (ゴジラ is a reptilian Gojira)kaiju who appears in the Go! Jet Jaguar segments of the 2019 web series Godziban. An enemy of Megalon, the two appeared at a robot press conference where Jet Jaguar attempted to assist Godzilla against the insectoid monster, though Godzilla became frustrated over Jet Jaguar's constant need to update during the battle.
Name
- See also: Godzilla#Name.
Godzilla's Japanese name, Gojira (ゴジラ), comes from a combination of the Japanese approximation of "gorilla" (ゴリラ, and kujira gorira) (クジラ), the Japanese word for "whale."
Development
Godziban's Go! Jet Jaguar segments, including Godzilla, were illustrated by Japanese artist Onigiri. The show overall is written by Hideyuki Kobayashi.
Design
Godzilla's appearance is reminiscent of the Heisei Godzilla with some clear differences. His overall design is simplistic and youthful to adhere to the children-targeting medium of Godziban. Godzilla's eyes are yellow, his hide is black and texturized by grey splotches to give a scaly impression, and his entire figure is outlined in blue. Four upper teeth stick out of his mouth, his hands each have four digits, his brow ridges are round and visible, and his tail points upright and has three rows of small gray dorsal fins. His dorsal plates are relatively small and fade to light grey towards the top.
He also demonstrates a resemblance to the 1973 Godzilla design at certain angles, especially those focusing on his face - this is fitting as he interacts with both Jet Jaguar and Megalon, both of whom appeared in the 1973 Godzilla film Godzilla vs. Megalon.
Personality
Godzilla is a heroic monster, being an enemy of Megalon and ally of Jet Jaguar. Godzilla was visibly shocked and annoyed when he realized that Jet Jaguar froze up to download data, and was delighted whenever one of Jet Jaguar's downloads was completed.
Origins
Godzilla's origins are not known. His relation to the Three Godzilla Brothers, if any, is also not specified, though they presumably exist in the same universe, as the Brothers later appear in the Go! Jet Jaguar episode "Red Balloon."

"A World First! Robot Press Conference"
Godzilla and his enemy Megalon suddenly appeared at a robot press conference and began to battle, with the nearby Jet Jaguar's sense of justice awakening to assist Godzilla against the beetle monster. Jet Jaguar quickly grew giant and stood back-to-back with Godzilla to prepare an attack against Megalon, though Godzilla quickly realized his ally had frozen in place as he needed to download data, annoying Godzilla.
"Jet Jaguar Activates!!"
As Godzilla and Megalon continued to fight, Jet Jaguar grew giant again, only to freeze in place once more as he still needed to download data, annoying Godzilla. However, Jet Jaguar's download completed to Godzilla's joy - elation that proved short-lived when the robot froze yet again, as he now needed to download a battle app, briefly annoying Godzilla until the download completed. However, Jet Jaguar then needed to reboot and shrunk down to do so, infuriating Godzilla and leaving even his enemy Megalon saddened.
"Go! Jet Jaguar / Grandpa Hedo Recap"
The first two Go! Jet Jaguar episodes are recapped and the story of the Go! Jet Jaguar segments continued. After Jet Jaguar finally finished downloading the necessary data, he attempted to battle Megalon but was easily popped by the beetle monster's drills. Godzilla, having watched from a distance, compared Jet Jaguar to a balloon, a comparison confirmed by Jet Jaguar's creator Dr. Roborobo.

Intelligence

Trivia
- Curiously, this Godzilla's design is used on the title cards of the Go! Go! Godzilla-kun segments to represent Godzilla-kun, despite the two being different characters with different designs.
- This is the only audiovisual incarnation of Godzilla to never demonstrate any form of breath weapon. While the TriStar Godzilla lacks atomic breath, he uses a fiery "power breath" to blow away cars.
- Godzilla-kun has twice mentioned the name "Godzilla": in "Land of Fire: Aso, Kumamoto Edition" he corrects the audience that his name is Godzilla-kun as opposed to Godzilla, and in "G vs. G / I Am Godzilla-kun!" he makes the same correction to Gigan.
