A giant woman appears in "Godzilla Versus Chicago", the final story in the 2025 IDW Publishing comic anthology Godzilla vs. America: Chicago. A human who grew to staggering proportions by drinking a Giant Woman Energy Drink, she successfully defended the Windy City against Godzilla.
Design
"Godzilla Versus Chicago" has a limited color palette of black, white, and green; with this in mind, the giant woman has light skin and even lighter hair. Before sampling a Giant Woman Energy Drink, she wore a dark T-shirt and pants, with her keys on a carabiner clipped to a belt loop, a staple of lesbian fashion. She is frequently naked in her giant form, but conveniently censored for the reader by a tube man, a billboard, and clouds. After growing for the first time, she wraps herself in the Chicago flag; in an intentional error by artist Caroline Cash, the stars on the flag have five points instead of six.[1]
Personality
Though initially amazed by her growth, the giant woman quickly adjusts to her new circumstances, clothing herself in a "chic" Chicago flag and pondering that her new size and strength should make her a hit at a local lesbian bar. She fails to notice Godzilla's rampage until the monster is standing right next to her, having missed numerous signs of his presence before and after growing. Shocked at first, she resolves to save "the parts of [Chicago] that I like" from him, though rather than engage him in battle, she simply grows large enough to pick him up and divert his destructive urges towards Indiana.
Origins
The giant woman was born a normal human in Uptown, Chicago, and remained a city resident as an adult. She grew to enormous size by sampling a Giant Woman Energy Drink, a product apparently unsuccessful enough to be on sale, at a local convenience store.
History
- Godzilla vs. America: Chicago (2025) ["Godzilla Versus Chicago"]
Godzilla vs. America: Chicago
A bored woman wandered into an empty Chicago convenience store. The clerk explained that an evacuation order is in effect; she mistakes this as a tornado warning despite his attempts to explain. She asked to sample a Giant Woman Energy Drink on sale, which promptly turned her into a giant, bursting through the store's roof. She was amazed that the drink actually worked as advertised. Recognizing that she was now completely naked, she wrapped herself in a Chicago flag. Distracted by thoughts of her limitless prospects at a local lesbian bar, she suddenly found herself standing next to Godzilla, who had been rampaging through the city for some time without her noticing. He was confused by her presence, but soon resumed leveling the city. Realizing that his rampage would destroy "not just the Loop, but also the parts of the city I like," she finished the energy drink and surged to an even greater height than the King of the Monsters. She apologetically picked him up and carried him across Lake Michigan, leaving him to ravage Indiana.
Abilities

The giant woman's stature is a result of a Giant Woman Energy Drink. The more of the drink she consumed, the larger she became.
Physical abilities
After growing a second time, the giant woman easily picked up and carried Godzilla with one hand.
