Black Hedorah

An army of black Hedorahs (黒いヘドラ kuroi Hedora) appear in episodes 13 through 15 of the 2025 web series Godziburst.
Name
The kaiju are simply described as "black Hedorah" by the narrator in episode 15, "Into the Demonic Verse!".
Design
The black Hedorahs' design is based on the Hedorah design from Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971). They are colored black with a glossy texture except for the eyes, which are the usual red with yellow and black pupils. Just like the other Hedorah variants in the Godziburst toyline, the right arm features a Flying Form Hedorah clipped onto it.

"Scout from the Darkness"
As SY-3 prepared to narrate yet another fight in the Cyberduelverse, LittleGodzilla appeared. Seeing the young monster's worry, SY-3 approached to check up on him, but immediately noticed the giant purple-black portal looming over them. Black sludge started flowing from it onto the machinery of the arena, corrupting it. SY-3 and Little escaped in a rocket and headed to Adventureverse. After arriving, they noticed Anguirus and the terrain completely polluted and corrupted. A portal opened over them, and an army of black Hedorahs emerged from the sludge on the ground the portal released. SY-3 concluded that the only way to protect LittleGodzilla would be to fight off the attackers himself, so he transformed into Golden Hedorah.
"Give 'Em a Shock!"
Golden Hedorah tackled the black Hedorah army, but his attacks seemed to have little to no effect, was sent flying towards a giant rock by a single hit. The monster, defeated, transformed back into SY-3 after impact. As the horde marched towards them and the situation seemed unsalvageable, thunderbolts began striking the slimy monsters out of nowhere. Thunder Godzilla, bathed in lightning, suddenly appeared to save the day. SY-3 realized that the black Hedorahs' weakness seemed to be electricity. Thunder Godzilla defeated the horde with a single blow, but the main body of the black Hedorahs launched itself into the sky to escape. Anguirus signaled Thunder Godzilla to grab him by the tail and throw him towards it, so he could destroy the main body himself in the air. The plan proved successful, leaving the enemy defeated at last.
"Into the Demonic Verse!"
After quick calculation, SY-3 concluded that the source of the problem was the Hellverse, an area of Godziburst. As the danger was not yet over and some black sludge still remained on the ground, Thunder Godzilla and Anguirus decided to head to the Hellverse. The two took off in the SY-3 Tower, leaving SY-3 and Little behind for safety. SY-3 stated that he discovered the black Hedorahs were of the Dark Burst Type, one that he'd never seen before, but he was positive Thunder Godzilla of the King Burst Type would be able to defeat whatever they happen to run into in the enemy territory.
"The Terror of Destoroyah"
In the Hellverse, the heroes discovered that Destoroyah was the mastermind behind the invasion and had been controlling the black Hedorahs.
Abilities
Physical abilities
Each black Hedorahs features a Flying Form Hedorah clipped onto its right arm which can be launched as a projectile, though they were never shown doing so. This mirrors the gimmick that every Hedorah toy in the Godziburst toyline possesses. Their other physical attacks showed great strength, launching Golden Hedorah into the air with only a single hit. They showed heavy resistance to Golden Hedorah's attacks.
Hive mind
It is implied that the black Hedorahs may be a single lifeform, as SY-3 said that the Flying Form black Hedorah that tried to escape after Thunder Godzilla's finishing blow was the main body.
Portals
The black Hedorahs were shown traveling through portals, emerging from the black sludge it released. It is unknown if the portals are controlled by them or Destoroyah.
Weaknesses
The black Hedorahs were shown to be vulnerable to electricity, which allowed Thunder Godzilla to wipe the whole army out with a single blow.

Trivia
- Despite appearing in Godziburst, a promotional web series for the toy line of the same name, a figure of the black Hedorahs has yet to be released.
