Chibi Gabara (ちびガバラ Chibi Gabara) is a juvenile kaiju who appears in the second season of the 2023 animated television series Chibi Godzilla Raids Again. One of the various inhabitants of Monster Island, Chibi Gabara is a lazy and incompetent restaurant worker who performs all of his multiple jobs incompetently and annoys his customers in the process.
Name
Chibi Gabara's name simply comes from placing chibi (ちび), a Japanese word meaning "little", before "Gabara".
Design
Chibi Gabara has a humanoid body with green skin, whereas the original Gabara had turquoise scales. He has a head of yellow hair with a single horn and three white toe claws on each foot. His belly, snout and horn are all the same shade of tan.
Personality
Chibi Gabara is very lazy and often slacks off while pretending to be busy during his various odd jobs such as working as the manager of a family restaurant or as a street trader. He uses his dream of being a famous musician as a defense mechanism when customers complain about his service but also openly admits that this is a defense mechanism, seemingly negating its purpose as a defense mechanism. He considers stress interviews one of his strong points and was rather pressuring and judgmental towards Chibi Ghidorah when the latter struggled to think of his own strong points during their interview. However, he ultimately hired Chibi Ghidorah immediately after anyways despite struggling with the interview. When overhearing a misunderstanding from Chibi Godzilla, he gets very excited at the idea of Chibi Mothra and Chibi Mechagodzilla dueling, eagerly asking where it will happen and how he wants to watch it.
Origins
Chibi Gabara is a resident of Monster Island who owns a restaurant but wants to become a famous musician. This has led him to join a band though no other members of this band are seen or referenced.

Chibi Godzilla Raids Again
"Manager Chibi Gabara"
Wishing to order a meal at Monster Island's new restaurant, Chibi Ghidorah shouted out to try and get the attention of a waiter, though Chibi Gabara, who was hitting an empty pan, didn't respond. Chibi Mechagodzilla wondered if Chibi Gabara couldn't hear them and Chibi Godzilla also shouted out; Chibi Gabara responded that he could hear them but would only respond when called by name. Chibi Ghidorah noticed "Chibi Gabara" written on his name tag and Chibi Godzilla shouted out his name though Chibi Gabara responded that his hands were full. This angered Chibi Mechagodzilla, as they had called out his name but Chibi Gabara replied that he was the only member of staff that day, pacifying Chibi Mechagodzilla until Chibi Gabara confessed to banging the empty pan so that he would look busy. Having annoyed both Chibi Mechagodzilla and Chibi Ghidorah by saying this, Chibi Gabara hurried over to their table and asked the three of them what they wanted to order. He recommended the lunch special, though immediately commented that lunch had ended when Chibi Mechagodzilla asked for it, irritating him. The three customers then asked for their meals: Chibi Mechagodzilla asked for a hamburger set, Chibi Godzilla wanted spaghetti and meatballs, and Chibi Ghidorah requested a rice bowl. Chibi Gabara promptly asked them to repeat their orders, annoying Chibi Ghidorah as it was his job to remember their orders and confusing Chibi Mechagodzilla as to what the point of his notepad was. Chibi Gabara decided that he got the idea of what they wanted and left, worrying Chibi Mechagodzilla.
As Chibi Gabara cooked their meals, the trio overheard him complaining to himself and wondering what to make for his customers despite them having ordered specific food. Chibi Gabara later returned to their table and placed an entire radish on their table, shocking all three of them as none of them had ordered anything similar to it. He then referred to it as "a salad with not-in-season veggies" when Chibi Mechagodzilla commented that he could've at least made a specific meal out of it. Chibi Gabara commented that he was going on a break, though paused to tell them about his dream when Chibi Ghidorah angrily told him off. He told them that his dream, which he worked towards every day, was to one day become a famous musician which was why he joined a band. However, he confessed immediately after that this was just an attempt to get sympathy points when his customers complained. He assured the group that he was telling the truth about his dream, only to annoy Chibi Mechagodzilla once again upon revealing he only planned to perform once a year if he ever achieved his goal of becoming a famous musician.
"Chibi Minilla's First Errand"
After Chibi Minilla was forced to play a detective game with Chibi Ghidorah by Chibi Godzilla and the Shobijin while she was trying to complete her first errand alone, Chibi Minilla finally arrived at the market with five minutes to spare and found Chibi Gabara at a market stall. Chibi Gabara attempted to give Chibi Minilla a banana, confusing Chibi Minilla, and he explained that he was trying to get rid of them. Chibi Minilla instead told him that she wanted to buy potatoes and he appeared to listen to her until he tried to sell her bananas again. Chibi Gabara watched with Chibi Godzilla and the Shobijin as an enraged Chibi Minilla attempted to fire her first atomic breath but instead fired a harmless smoke ring.
"Chibi Ghidorah's Part-Time Job"
Chibi Gabara began to interview Chibi Ghidorah, who was looking for a job at Chibi Gabara's restaurant, but was immediately confused by the fact he had three job resumes rather than one. Chibi Ghidorah explained that the odds of getting the job were better if three resumes and that they would get three times the pay if all three of them got the job though Chibi Gabara answered that that wouldn't be happening. Chibi Gabara then asked him why he wanted to work at his restaurant and Chibi Ghidorah rudely answered that if Chibi Gabara could do it, the expectations were low enough that anybody could. Chibi Gabara attempted to defend himself and explained that pretending to work is difficult. Chibi Ghidorah's right head explained that he simply wanted money and his left head aggressively asked if they were hired, though Chibi Gabara was unsure of them as customers were their number one priority. Just as Chibi Gabara began to tell them what to do if a customer was upset, Chibi Godzilla suddenly appeared and impatiently asked for Chibi Gabara to take his order. Chibi Gabara overdramatically apologized to him, pacifying him into returning to his table. Chibi Gabara then resumed the interview and asked Chibi Ghidorah what some of his strong points were. Chibi Ghidorah's middle head instead asked him what his strong points were and Chibi Gabara answered "stress interviews", worrying Chibi Ghidorah's right head.
Chibi Gabara then began to stress interview Chibi Ghidorah, grilling him for his lack of strong points, apparent inability to understand what was needed to survive and telling them to speak or go home. Chibi Ghidorah gave up under the pressure but was shocked when Chibi Gabara then hired him due to the restaurant being severely understaffed. Chibi Gabara immediately began training and told Chibi Ghidorah off when he reacted in shock, though Chibi Ghidorah accepted the training and asked Chibi Gabara to teach him his ways. Chibi Gabara began to teach Chibi Ghidorah important phrases when Chibi Godzilla suddenly reappeared and demanded that his order be taken, prompting Chibi Gabara and Chibi Ghidorah to overdramatically apologize. Chibi Godzilla was unimpressed.
"Chibi Gigan's Perfect Home"
While looking for a new home, Chibi Gigan visited a real estate agency and spoke with the real estate agent, Chibi Gabara, about renting a room. Chibi Gabara cheerfully informed him that they had some available, and after learning that Chibi Gigan wanted to be surrounded by nature, recommended an empty, open field, which excited his client. Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Minilla attempted to stop Chibi Gigan, though Chibi Godzilla was more concerned with making sure Chibi Gigan picked the right home instead of stopping him entirely. Chibi Gabara agreed and got serious as he asked Chibi Gigan if he wanted his house to have a front door; Chibi Gigan angrily dismissed this as a ridiculous question until Chibi Gabara pointed out that flying monsters could enter their houses via balconies, prompting Chibi Gigan to apologize before Chibi Godzilla convinced him that he needed a front door after all. Chibi Gabara presented Chibi Gigan with a floorplan of a house with multiple front doors, and though Chibi Gigan was ready to take it, Chibi Godzilla convinced him not to. Chibi Gabara proceeded to share additional floorplans of improbable house layouts, including one located within a pond, though Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Minilla's objections dissuaded Chibi Gigan from taking any. Chibi Gabara then recommended a vacant lot owned by "another evil organization". Chibi Gigan once again declared his intent to take it, but was later revealed to have taken the very first space suggested by Chibi Gabara and set up a tent in the open field.
"First Date Butterflies"
Chibi Mothra brought Chibi Mechagodzilla to Chibi Gabara's restaurant while showing him her favorite spots on the island, only to find the establishment in complete disarray as Chibi Anguirus and Chibi Rodan were fighting while Chibi Godzilla was demanding food. Chibi Mechagodzilla berated Chibi Gabara for doing nothing to stop the pandemonium, though he remained oblivious and ignored him. However, upon hearing Chibi Godzilla asking about an alleged duel that Chibi Mechagodzilla was going to have with Chibi Mothra, Chibi Gabara perked up and excitedly asked for more details. Chibi Mechagodzilla angrily pointed out that there was enough chaos happening in front of him already.
"Broke Monster Chibi Ghidorah"
Chibi Gabara's hand was briefly seen in an illustration as Chibi Ghidorah explained why he was broke, with only receiving one salary from his job being part of the reason.
"My Bestie is a Hooligan"
After seeing Chibi Minilla accidentally upset Chibi Titano, Chibi Gabara went up to her and told her that she had been harsh and should apologize with flowers. As she gratefully took the flowers, he sneakily told her that they cost 700 yen and they had a no refunds policy, harassing her and accusing her of theft as she tried to negotiate her way out of the situation. Chibi Titano returned to save Chibi Minilla and prepared to punch Chibi Gabara until he realized that doing so would mean he would be forever seen as a hooligan, struggling with the choice until Chibi Godzilla, who had been watching the entire situation, suddenly appeared and threw Chibi Gabara over his shoulder to the ground in an All Monsters Attack reference. Chibi Gabara lay defeated on the ground as Chibi Titano and Chibi Minilla became friends once again.
"Let's Order Monster Eats"
When Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Minilla placed 10 orders for "Baddest of All Time" from Monster Eats, they realized they could track the delivery person, Chibi Gabara, on a map. They noticed he almost immediately went offtrack by visiting Tsk-Tsk Ramen and called him. He explained he was hungry, and when they asked him to deliver their food and then eat, demanded a large tip when he delivered the food. They checked his profile, finding a rating of only one-and-a-half stars out of five, and a quote from him explaining their food was a mere hostage and so he expected a tip. They then noticed he was aimlessly wandering around town and called him again. This time, he explained that he was also delivering newspapers at the same time and attempted to deflect with a "lyrical brainwave", despite Chibi Godzilla's protests, as he sung about how he hated his job. He added that he was almost at their house, having seemingly teleported to the beach from the middle of the town, and then rung their doorbell. Chibi Gabara demanded a tip as soon as he entered but Chibi Godzilla said he would check the food first, which turned out to be soaked with water and covered in marine organisms. Chibi Gabara simply commented it wasn't his fault they lived underwater as the two complained about delivery services.
"Monster Island's Pizzala"
After Chibi Mechagodzilla told Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Ghidorah and Chibi Rodan to order some meals from Monster Island's Pizzala, Chibi Gabara arrived some time later and gave them their orders. Chibi Mechagodzilla was shocked to see that they had ordered a half seafood-half margarita Could-Be-Pizza denim style, which Chibi Godzilla justified as the middle ground between thin and thick crusts, confusing Chibi Mechagodzilla further. Chibi Gabara also gave them what else they had ordered: a half margarita-half-I-Wanted-Pizza denim-style, and a Caesar salad and vanilla ice cream denim-style combination. Chibi Mechagodzilla was further baffled by this and questioned how food-themed trousers even related to pizza, with Chibi Gabara simply commenting that they also did a clothing line and Chibi Mechagodzilla responded that they should separate the flyers. Chibi Mechagodzilla was further annoyed by his friends' proclaiming their orders to be what Pizzala offered.
"Real Family"
When searching for the other half of the broken pendant Chibi Minilla's biological family had left with her, Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Minilla and Chibi Mechagodzilla came across Chibi Gabara holding a flyer in the woods. Chibi Godzilla was surprised that he was her biological family despite Chibi Mechagodzilla's doubts until the group realized that Chibi Godzilla had misunderstood what they were looking for and had thought they were looking for a flyer similar to the one left with Chibi Minilla as an infant. Chibi Minilla was despondent at once again having no more information on her biological family until Chibi Godzilla told her that him and his dad were her family despite not being related. As the two hugged, Chibi Gabara approached the group and asked if any of them were looking for a job, with Chibi Mechagodzilla angrily telling him to read the room for once.
"Supermarket Showdown"
Now working at the supermarket Mess Mart, Chibi Gabara appeared to place discount stickers on various products much to the excitement of both Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Biollante. He first placed a 30% off sticker on a shopping trolley to Chibi Minilla's shock and then placed a 50% on sticker on yellowtail sashimi fillets, explaining this meant they would have to pay 1.5x the price for the product much to the annoyance and shock of the group. He next placed a 50% off sticker on some tuna fillets which were immediately taken by Chibi Biollante as she taunted Chibi Godzilla until Chibi JJ appeared out of nowhere and proclaimed her under arrest. As Chibi JJ explained she had been shoplifting despite her protests, Chibi Gabara commented that she had not paid for the tuna fillets in her possession and Chibi Biollante confessed to her crime despite Chibi Minilla attempting to help her by pointing out she was still in the middle of shopping. Chibi Gabara watched as Chibi Minilla further argued Chibi Biollante's case and Chibi JJ halved her sentence from six to three years, which Chibi Biollante and Chibi Godzilla considered a bargain despite Chibi Minilla commenting that it was still absurd.
"I Hate Hospitals"
After Chibi Godzilla took Chibi Minilla to the abandoned hospital due to her feeling unwell, Chibi Gabara entered the room. Chibi Minilla was concerned about having Chibi Gabara as her doctor, especially when his first words were "welcome in!" and he revealed himself to be both only part-time and unlicensed. He asked her what was the matter with her and she explained she felt feverish, with Chibi Gabara immediately getting out a large syringe to her shock and fear as she commented he should probably examine more before giving shots. He asked her to open her mouth wide and then immediately grabbed the syringe again without even looking, annoying her as she told him to stop being hasty. Chibi Gabara sadly replied that giving shots is the only fun part of the job as she explained being a doctor wasn't about fun before Chibi Godzilla returned now wearing a nurse hat. He justified himself to her by explaining that there is a doctor, a nurse and a patient when playing hospital, further annoying her as she felt genuinely unwell and didn't believe a part-time doctor like Chibi Gabara really counted. Chibi Gabara and Chibi Godzilla decided to give her medicine and Chibi Godzilla held a vat of purple bubbling liquid which she commented looked like witchcraft as Chibi Gabara told her to drink it three times a day but she refused.
Chibi Godzilla became distracted by an x-ray machine and Chibi Gabara allowed him to take a scan which he posed for alone with peace hand gestures after initially suggesting he and Chibi Minilla take a family photo on it. Chibi Minilla commented that what the two of them were doing wasn't helping at all as they immediately placed her onto an operating table, something she found excessive and especially concerning when they placed to do it without anesthesia. She got off the operating table as she explained that sweating from the comic relief had actually made her fever go down, with Chibi Gabara being disappointed she didn't need any shots. They prepared to go home but Chibi Gabara interrupted them and was going to explain to Chibi Godzilla that he had seen something alarming on his x-ray but abruptly announced it was the end of his shift, angering Chibi Godzilla.
"Monster Island's Year-End Party"
When a large group of chibi monsters gathered at Chibi Biollante's bar to share memories at the year-end party, Chibi Gabara appeared in flashback as Chibi Biollante spoke about her memory of being arrested at Mess Mart, explaining that she was allowed to go free of charge after saying "sorry".
"Tsk-Tsk Ramen"
While waiting in the queue outside Tsk-Tsk Ramen, Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Ghidorah and Chibi Rodan spotted Chibi Gabara standing by the door as Chibi Rodan commented on him working yet another job. Chibi Ghidorah and Chibi Rodan voiced their anger at Chibi Gabara's habit of saying "TSK" at anyone outside the restaurant as Chibi Gabara asked how many of them they were and continued to be rude as Chibi Godzilla speculated that "TSK" translated to "come on in!" but was proven wrong when Chibi Gabara muttered that he hated his job.
Later, when the trio were being served by Chibi Gigan, Chibi Gabara appeared to tell the robot monster to get on with his job rather than talk to the customers. Chibi Gigan apologized instantly and Chibi Godzilla was shocked to see Chibi Gabara actually doing his job until Chibi Gabara demanded free ramen and told Chibi Gigan to say "TSK. Sorry" if he had to apologize to customers rather than being polite much to Chibi Ghidorah's irritation. Upon hearing the trio's orders, Chibi Gigan asked Chibi Gabara to get five ramens for the group but he instead went to his break to Chibi Rodan's shock. Chibi Gabara reappeared when the three customers left after their meals to tell Chibi Gigan that he could work alone due to his success in serving customers, annoying Chibi Gigan by reminding him of other customers who needed serving and going on another break as Chibi Gigan swore that Chibi Gabara would be his first target for destruction.
"Chibi Gigan vs. Chibi JJ"
Hearing a complaint from Chibi JJ while at Tsk-Tsk Ramen, Chibi Gigan called for Chibi Gabara and mentioned they had a complaint. Rather than helping, Chibi Gabara simply told him that he couldn't make it until he learnt to handle complaints and then immediately went on a break as Chibi Mechagodzilla criticized his lack of motivation.
Abilities
Teleportation
Chibi Gabara appears to teleport when having a "lyrical brainwave", suddenly appearing at the beach after having just been in the town.
Amphibiousness
Chibi Gabara presumably swims to Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Minilla's underwater home as part of his delivery, leaving the orders soggy.
Weaknesses
Chibi Gabara was defeated when Chibi Godzilla threw him over his shoulder.

Trivia
- This is one of the first interpretations of Gabara, or a character based on Gabara, who is not portrayed as a malicious villain. Brave Like Godzilla, a children's book which was released only 21 days after Chibi Gabara's first episode, has Gabara himself start out as a bully similar to the original incarnation who appeared in All Monsters Attack before befriending Minilla and their friends by the end of the story.
