SY-3 (Esu Wai Surī) is a small, spherical robot character who first appears in "The Duel Verse", the season 2 premiere of the 2025 web series Godziburst. He[a] is a "navigator" (a Japanese term for TV/radio hosts) who introduces and commentates kaiju battles in the Cyberduelverse throughout the second season of the show. Being present in the arena as battles take place, SY-3 sometimes has to take evasive actions to not get caught in the crossfire. He continues to appear through the third season, where he aids a group of monsters in their campaign against the villainous Destoroyah, even joining the fight himself by taking on the form of Golden Hedorah (ゴールデンヘドラ Gōruden Hedora) and later piloting Super Mechagodzilla.
Name
The robot is named after Moonlight SY-3, a spaceplane that first appeared in Destroy All Monsters and is docked in the arena in the Cyberduelverse. The name of his alternate form, Golden Hedorah, is simply a combination of the words "golden" and "Hedorah", reflecting his coloration.
Design
SY-3 is a small spherical robot which is mostly red and silver in color. He has an overall mechanical and futuristic appearance, being fully symmetrical and having a segmented body made of various curved panels. His visor is light blue and is in the shape of a bold line with rounded edges going across the middle of his body's upper half.
Golden Hedorah is simply a fully gold recolor of Hedorah from Godzilla vs. Hedorah. A Flying Form Hedorah is clipped under his right arm.
Personality
SY-3, being a fight commentator, is very enthusiastic and is always excited for the upcoming fights. He often breaks the fourth wall and talks to the viewers directly, mostly about the battle, but also to introduce himself the first time he appears. SY-3's behavior when confronted by danger could be best described as skittish, as he was very anxious and panicked a lot during the invasion on the Adventureverse by otherworldly forces. Despite that, SY-3 showed determination and courage in the battles of season 3, transforming into Golden Hedorah to defend his friends from the black Hedorah army and piloting Super Mechagodzilla to fight alongside Thunder Godzilla against King Destoroyah and his minions.

Godziburst
"The Duel Verse" to "Greatest Battle in the Cyberduelverse"
A spherical robot flew towards the camera and introduced himself as Navigator Robot SY-3, also saying that "everyone calls [him] 3 these days." After SpaceGodzilla and Mechagodzilla (1974) were teleported to the arena, SY-3 explained how Burst Types work and then proceeded to analyze the fight as it was taking place. The battles that took place in the arena were between Magma Hedorah and Godzilla (1991), Type-3 Kiryu (Firefighter Mode) and Burning Millennium Godzilla, Rodan and Mechagodzilla, and King Ghidorah and the Gigan and Gatling Gigan duo. While providing commentary for those, he was almost hit by Magma Hedorah's Flying Form and even Rodan himself.
After defeating the Gigans, King Ghidorah started wreaking havoc in the arena. With the three-headed monster firing wildly, SY-3 had to actively avoid his gravity beams. Three heroic kaiju were teleported to the arena to stop the mad dragon—Ice Mothra, Burning Millennium Godzilla, and Rodan with the Maser Unit. SY-3 begged for them to save the Cyberduelverse, which was at the risk of being completely destroyed by King Ghidorah, and rooted for them during the fight. After Ghidorah was defeated, SY-3 thanked the heroic monsters before they all went their separate ways.
"Scout from the Darkness"
As a mysterious darkness loomed over the Adventureverse, a horde of black Hedorahs emerged. SY-3 concluded that the only way to protect Anguirus and LittleGodzilla was to fight off the attackers himself. Having no other choice, the robot scanned a black Hedorah and took on a new form: Golden Hedorah.
"Give 'Em a Shock!"
Golden Hedorah tackled the black Hedorah army, but the attacks seemed to have little to no effect, and he was sent flying towards a giant rock formation by a single hit. Golden Hedorah, defeated, transformed back into SY-3 upon impact. As the horde was marching towards them and the situation seemed unsalvageable, thunderbolts stared striking down the slimy monsters out of nowhere. Thunder Godzilla, bathed in lightning, suddenly appeared to save the day. SY-3, upon witnessing that, concluded the black Hedorahs' weakness seemed to be electricity. Thunder Godzilla defeated the horde with a single blow, but the main body of the black Hedorah army launched itself towards the sky to escape. Anguirus signaled Thunder Godzilla to grab him by the tail and throw him towards it, which he did. Anguirus, now flying through the air towards the Hedorah, destroyed the escapee and finally defeated the enemy.
"Into the Demonic Verse!"
After the black Hedorahs had been defeated by Thunder Godzilla, SY-3's calculations lead to the conclusion that the source of the problem was the Hellverse, another region of Godziburst. SY-3 started panicking and stated that they had little to no time to act before the invasion resumed. Thunder Godzilla and Anguirus decided to head to the Hellverse and took off in the SY-3 Tower. SY-3 told LittleGodzilla that their previously-defeated enemies were of the Dark Burst Type, which he himself had never seen before, but concluded that they were weak to Thunder Godzilla's King Burst Type.
"Mechagodzilla's Assault!"
Amidst the battle between King Ghidorah, Gigan, and the heroic Thunder Godzilla and Anguirus, Mechagodzilla (1993) was teleported to the battlefield. Piloted by SY-3, it connected with the Garuda, which had also just transported LittleGodzilla to the scene, and became Super Mechagodzilla. The robot performed its Burst Move, the All Weapons Fire, and the heroes defeated King Ghidorah and Gigan with their combined might. SY-3 stated the two foes must have been manipulated by their master's dark powers, so he and Thunder Godzilla decided to confront the mastermind themselves.
"The Terror of Destoroyah"
Super Mechagodzilla and Thunder Godzilla arrived at the ruins of an old temple, at the center of which sat Destoroyah on his terrible insectoid-looking throne. Destoroyah charged at Super Mechagodzilla first, knocking it off the platform and disconnecting the Garuda, and focused on Thunder Godzilla. Shortly after, Mechagodzilla returned to its feet and SY-3 proceeded to scan Destoroyah's Burst Type. Being a kaiju of the King & Ocean Burst Type, its weakness was the Plant Type, so SY-3 summoned Kiryu's Back Unit and fired a barrage of missiles at the crustacean mutant. From the explosion emerged King Destoroyah, his ultimate form, completely unharmed by the attack.
"The King Who Rends the Dark"
The all-powerful King Destoroyah struck Mechagodzilla with his Variable Slicer, sending it flying into a wall and shutting it down. Thunder Godzilla managed to defeat the dark king after a lengthy and tense battle by summoning five other members of his species, destroying him with the combined power of six different Godzillas. Mechagodzilla and SY-3 appeared again after the decisive battle for Godziburst was over, celebrating the victory with other monsters. They all then took off in the SY-3 Tower.
Abilities
Flight
SY-3 is constantly floating, and is able to do so at speeds which allowed him to avoid other monsters' heat rays and beams in the Cyberduelverse arena.
Artificial intelligence
SY-3 has a powerful AI that was able to quickly identify the origin of the black Hedorahs. He is also able to scan the monsters' Burst Types and find their weaknesses, and has a great understanding of Burst Types overall.
The robot could pilot Super Mechagodzilla greatly and effectively aided Thunder Godzilla and his friends in battle. He was able to teleport himself to the Hellverse in a teleportation cube through unknown means.
Transformation
SY-3 was able to transform into Golden Hedorah after scanning one of the black Hedorahs. This form features a Flying Form Hedorah clipped onto his right arm which can be launched as a projectile. This mirrors the gimmick of every Hedorah toy in the Godziburst line. The form was extremely weak against the black Hedorahs, and was defeated by a single hit.
Although SY-3 took on the form after having scanned a black Hedorah, it is unknown if he can do the same with other kaiju.
Weaknesses
Golden Hedorah was easily defeated by a single hit from a black Hedorah, after which he transformed back into SY-3.

Trivia
- SY-3 and Gatling Gigan have near-identical interfaces when their points of view are shown in the series.
- SY-3 is similar to Lucas from Godzilla Island, another spherical robot companion created for a show in which monsters are portrayed using toys.
- Golden Hedorah was a limited-edition Godziburst figure included with certain purchases of other figures in the line, beginning in March 2026.[1]
