First appearance Go! Greenman episode 38: "Greenman vs. Gorilla"

Gorilla (ゴリラ,   Gorira) is an ape-like kaiju who appeared in episode 38 of the 1973-1974 Toho tokusatsu kaiju series Go! Greenman, "Greenman vs. Gorilla."

Gorilla was portrayed by the King Kong suit originally built by Teizo Toshimitsu and Yasuei Yagi for the 1967 Toho film King Kong Escapes. By then, the suit had badly deteriorated, and the supports in the forearms had apparently been removed, causing its arms to flail wildly onscreen. As Toho's rights to Kong had expired by 1974, his name could not be used in Go! Greenman.

Go! Greenman

The giant Gorilla prepares for battle with Greenman.

Gorilla was a creation of Tonchiki, created for the sole purpose of retrieving the blood of children for Maoh to escape the Underground Cave. After being teleported to the surface world and attempting to kidnap a young boy, Greenman was signaled to Earth by the child, where he did battle with the monster. As Greenman and Gorilla fought, Tonchiki drew a ring around them, turning the fight into a sumo match. Eventually, Tonchiki cast a spell on Gorilla, causing him to grow to giant size. Luckily, Greenman also grew and Gorilla was eventually defeated.

Gorilla has immense strength.

Gorilla's roars are reused Mummy Man roars, which were in turn later reused for Black King.
