Garamedon
|
Garamedon (ガラメドン) is a bug kaiju created by Toho that first appeared in episode 12 of the 1972 tokusatsu kaiju show, Assault! Human!! titled "Human Brother Big Success!."
Design
With similarities to Megalon, Garamedon has a large head that flows into his body. He has large yellowish-orange antlers sticking out from the sides of his head. He also has large eyes with yellow sclerae and red irises which presumably blink sideways, in a similar fashion to Hedorah. He has large strong arms ending with large claws. Also, on his arms are spikes in yet again the orangey color. Like most bugs he has a large shell on his back. Finally, he has large firm legs with two-toed feet.
History
Assault! Human!!
"Human Brother Big Success!"
Garamedon fought Junichiro and Junjiro Iwaki but ultimately lost.
Go! Greenman
"Greenman vs. Garamedon"
Garamedon was mutated from a Minion of Maoh by Tonchiki after his and the minion's attempt to get the blood of children was thwarted by Greenman. This time, Greenman was still present, as the children were thanking him for stopping the previous chaos. Greenman attacked Garamedon, and seemed to have the upper hand, until Tonchiki commanded Garamedon to use his electric beam on Greenman, revealing his mechanical insides to Maoh. The sidekick then commanded Garamedon to turn gigantic, but Greenman also grew to a giant size and engaged Garamedon once more. This time, Garamedon was unable to last long in the fight, and was quickly detonated by Greenman's Breaster attack.
Abilities
White mist
In Assault! Human!!, Garamedon could emit a noxious white mist from his head.
Physical abilities
In Go! Greenman, Garamedon has strong arms that he uses to punch and throw enemies such as Greenman around.
Horns
Although he is never shown using them, his horns may also be used as jabbing or stabbing weapons.
Pincers
Garamedon's pincers also have multiple functionalities, being capable of shooting beams of electricity and summoning small explosions. This beam appears to have X-ray capabilities as well, since during the first use it revealed Greenman's internal machinery which was then seen by Maoh and Tonchiki.
