"The Golden Guardians"
A pair of archaeologists in India were confronted by an old priest who demanded they leave or suffer the wrath of the Guardians, despite the pair insisting they meant no harm. The archaeologists returned to their camp, which was swiftly attacked by a giant golden humanoid statue. The duo fled with their lives, abandoning their camp which the Calico crew stumbled upon while checking in on them.
Arriving in the ancient Indian city of Kali-Noor, the crew discovered what the archaeologists left behind. They were spotted by the priest, who, fearful the crew coveted Kali-Noor's ancient treasure, summoned a Golden Guardian, and Captain Majors called for Godzilla as the crew fled. The Golden Guardian cut them off, but was distracted by Godzilla and attempted to destroy the Calico. Godzilla charged, and the surprised statue dropped the ship before locking with Godzilla's laser eyes using its own eye lasers of an opposite frequency. Godzilla pinned the Guardian to the ground, but was distracted by Godzooky nearly getting crushed by a crumbling wall, giving the Golden Guardian time to disappear. With the threat gone, the Calico crew resumed their exploration.
Quinn, Pete, and Godzooky ascended a staircase and found a path lined with Golden Guardian heads. Pete split away and touched a stone that made him grow tired when near it, giving life to another Golden Guardian who cornered Quinn and Godzooky, but they managed to evade the Guardian until Godzooky called Godzilla. Meanwhile, the priest held a meeting with several other locals and threatened to send the Golden Guardians after them too if they didn't agree to using them against strangers. Majors and Brock saw Godzilla and chased after him to reach their friends, but were intercepted by the priest while Godzilla stormed up to the dancing Golden Guardian and the two grappled and hugged each other. The Guardian broke free and blasted Godzilla with its beams, weakening him before coating him in a layer of gold. The Guardian found Quinn and Godzooky attempting to wake Pete and loomed over them, but Pete broke out of his trance, the Guardian immediately returning to the ground while Pete exclaimed about dreaming the battle. Meanwhile, the priest locked Majors and Brock in a cage, revealing to them that the Dreamstone controls the Guardians, but they were soon saved by the rest of the crew.
The Calico crew rerigged their communications laser to try and free Godzilla, but a Golden Guardian arrived to destroy the ship. Godzilla broke free and charged, repeatedly dodging the Guardian's lasers before they engaged in a slapping match. Declaring the Guardians can't be defeated, the priest awoke all but one of the other Golden Guardians, leaving the last one to emerge once the Calico crew passed by. Discovering the priest, the crew moved to wake him, but the Guardian hurled a brick at them.which shattered the Dreamstone, leaving the statues without a master. The last Golden Guardian joined the fight against Godzilla, who lured them all to a marsh and got the stuck at the bottom with their own weight before melting them all into slay with his fire breath. Seeing the errors in his ways, the priest and the villagers made peace with the Calico crew, and Kali-Noor finally had a golden treasure.
Abilities
Light beam
The Golden Guardians have the ability to emit beams of energy from their eyes, derived from sunlight, equal to Godzilla's laser eyes yet using an opposite wavelength.
Gold beam
The Golden Guardians can fire a different laser from their eyes which encased the target in a layer of gold.
Solar power
The Golden Guardians can recharge using sunlight, which causes their eyes to shine green.
Weaknesses
The Golden Guardians return to their resting places if their controller is woken from the Dreamstone. They were easily lured into a lake by Godzilla, where their weight prevented movement, before being entirely melted almost instantaneously from his fire breath. The Golden Guardians hesitate before attacking, giving their opponent plenty of time to dodge.
