Komodithrax is a giant reptilian monster who appears in episode 6 of the second season of Godzilla: The Series, "End of the Line." She is Godzilla's mate.

Design

Komodithrax is brown with a lighter underside and is mainly just a large Komodo dragon with small, darker brown bumps on her back, and dark brown spots on her body. Komodithrax has two forelimbs with five-digit hands with one claw on each finger, two back legs with four claws and one dewclaw on each foot. Her head has two orange eyes with bright orange pupils, a mouth full of sharp teeth and a forked tongue.

History

During a romantic cruise in Alaska, Nick and Audrey's ship was attacked by a Giant Turtle. The two ended up on a deserted island where they were attacked again by the Giant Turtle, but this time they were saved by Komodithrax, a mutant Komodo dragon. Nick discovered that Godzilla and Komodithrax were actually mates, and that Godzilla was acting as a surrogate father to Komodithrax's unhatched egg. Unfortunately, the U.S. military arrived on the island and ordered an air strike to destroy all monsters there. The Giant Turtle arrived again and fought Godzilla and Komodithrax. During the battle, the airstrike caused the Giant Turtle as well as Komodithrax and her egg to fall into a fissure, while Godzilla, Nick, and Audrey were able to escape.

Abilities

Physical abilities

Komodithrax has a powerful jaw, which she used to bite the Giant Turtle's neck and seems to have a good amount of physical strength, as seen as when she pushed the same Giant Turtle.

Atomic breath

Komodithrax possesses a blue-hued atomic breath similar to that of the original Godzilla after he was revived as Cyber Godzilla.

Asexual reproduction

It is suggested that Komodithrax is capable of asexual reproduction via parthenogenesis, something that real-life female Komodo dragons are also capable of.

Weaknesses

Komodithrax is slightly hurt by missiles. Komodithrax was easily knocked out after the Giant Turtle rammed into her. After the Giant Turtle bit her leg as it began to fall into the fissure, Komodithrax could do nothing but hold on, with her eventually plummeting into the fissure with the Giant Turtle, presumably killing both of them.

Roar

One of Komodithrax's roars is modified from the roar of the Tyrannosaurus rex in the Jurassic Park film series. She also uses some of Godzilla's grunts which have been previously used for Cyber Godzilla.

Trivia

  • Concept art of the scrapped female Godzilla
Komodithrax was originally supposed to be a female Godzilla, but this was changed because the producers did not want another Godzilla in the series.
  • A child's plush doll of Komodithrax is briefly shown in episode 6 of Godzilla: Singular Point, sitting alongside ones for the 1998 animated incarnation of Godzilla, the Giant Turtle, and Godzooky.
