Godzilla's Monsterpiece Theatre Presents is an in-progress anthology comic book miniseries from IDW Publishing. A follow-up to Tom Scioli's Godzilla's Monsterpiece Theatre, each oversized installment sees Godzilla and other Toho monsters invading iconic literary works. The first installment, Romeo & Juliet and Godzilla, was released on April 8, 2026, followed by Godzilla's The Odyssey on June 10. Roar of the Worlds will be released on August 12, 2026, and a final issue, The Kaiju of Oz, on October 7.
Though each issue is written and illustrated by a different team, Scioli returned to illustrate their covers as well as writing and illustrating five-page backup stories for each issue, which together comprise a larger story called Godzilla Meets Robin Hood and His Merry Band of Outlaws.[1]

Development
The miniseries was first announced on January 15, 2026, on the official Godzilla website.[1] The announcement was accompanied by statements from the creators of the first installment, Sean Peacock and Adam Tierney, alongside Tom Scioli and series editor Jake Williams. Scioli explained the core idea behind the series was that "Godzilla has been with us for centuries, maybe millennia, hiding in the fringes of history and literature." Five textless pages from the first installment were also included in the announcement.
Trivia
- Godzilla previously encountered William Shakespeare in Dark Horse's Godzilla #10.
- Godzilla previously encountered the Olympian gods in Godzilla: Rage Across Time #2, also by IDW Publishing.
- The War of the Worlds was previously referenced in IDW's Godzilla: Here There Be Aliens as a cover-up H.G. Wells wrote for an incident involving multiple Hedorah.
- While Godzilla's Monsterpiece Theatre did not include any Toho monsters besides Godzilla himself, this series features other familiar kaiju such as Mechagodzilla and King Ghidorah.
