Plot
As S.S. Mechagodzilla travels through hyperspace, Rohan orders the crew to prepare for battle and fully charge the ship's core. Gen modifies an escape pod for Ayan's use. Mechagodzilla exits hyperspace over Tama 7 and damages several Xilien ships before delivery a flying stomp to SpaceGodzilla on the planet's surface. Admiral Elvira, enraged at Rohan's betrayal, orders the ship destroyed. He resolves to draw the Xiliens' fire for as long as he can while Ayan departs on the escape pod, piloting it towards the rebel base, where Xilien infantry continues to advance. Ayan radios Frey as she crashes through the base's eastern hull, explaining that she has a plan to repel the Xiliens, but needs her help. Frey leaps onto the small craft, and Ayan kisses her before they set off.
Activating its jet boots, Mechagodzilla vaults over a claw swipe from SpaceGodzilla, then evades its breath weapon. Both Rohan and Gen realize they're enjoying the fight; even though the ship is on the verge of falling apart, it's been years since they were able to fly so freely. Ayan drives wildly through rebel corridors and towards the cave with the Magma Worms, remembering Frey's comment that the largest worms live deeper in the cave. Mechagodzilla fires its breath weapon at SpaceGodzilla, only for its shoulder crystal to reflect the beam in all directions. Elvira angrily contacts Rohan as his ship delivers a flying knee smash to SpaceGodzilla's face. She resolves to hunt down his entire crew; unfazed, he responds that they never should have taken her money and orders a rocket barrage. When the smoke clears, however, SpaceGodzilla is still standing, and returns fire, damaging Mechagodzilla's left shoulder cannon.
Ayan and Frey rocket back to the surface with Magma Worms in pursuit. SpaceGodzilla wraps its tail around Mechagodzilla's head and prepares a fatal blast, only for a group of massive Magma Worms to burst out of the ground and constrict it. Elvira orders the worms destroyed, but the intense heat they generate disables the Xiliens' mind-control devices. SpaceGodzilla immediately begins firing on every Xilien ship in sight, and Elvira orders a retreat. Mechagodzilla withdraws and the Magma Worms disperse as SpaceGodzilla continues its offensive. After contacting the ship to confirm their survival, Ayan and Frey enjoy the view. Lif draws Rohan's attention to the broadcast the Xiliens began as they retreated: massive bounties on every individual crew member of Mechagodzilla. Rohan gruffly responds that there's always a cost.
