Trivia

  • Many of Mauro Fonseca's early cover proposals recreate various Godzilla posters and Sonic the Hedgehog artwork. Two of them also include Burning Godzilla and Super Godzilla facing off against Super Sonic, though the artist noted that these proposed designs were not in any way reflective of the events within the comic itself and not necessarily expected to be used.[3]
  • The retailer incentive cover by Natalie Haines appears to reference the cover of Sonic X #39, with Mechagodzilla in place of the giant-sized Vector.

and thumbnails for it. please please PLEASE do not read anything into them. the characters that're in these don't mean they'll be in the story. we weren't told to make the cover very directly connected to the story inside, especially since it's a variant in my case, so I was just focused on thinking about it as a cool poster. Having Super Sonic or Super Godzilla on these thumbnails does not mean anything for the comic, I just proposed it because I thought it'd make a cool poster if it went through, that is all"
